A FSH-secreting pituitary adenoma discovered after ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome: a case report, illustrating pitfalls in the interpretation of serum FSH levels.

Background: Most cases of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) are caused by infertility treatment using human menopausal gonadotropin (HMG) and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). OHSS is widely known to have a "spoke-wheel" appearance on imaging, presenting as bilateral symmetric enlargement of ovaries with multiple cysts of varying sizes. When this spoke-wheel appearance is observed in patients not undergoing infertility treatment, tumor-derived hormones such as follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and hCG should be measured.

Chronic pelvic insufficiency fractures and their treatment.

Fragility and insufficiency fractures of the pelvis (FFP) and sacrum (SIF) are increasingly prevalent, particularly among the elderly, due to weakened bone structure and low-energy trauma. Chronic instability from these fractures causes persistent pain, limited mobility, and significant reductions in quality of life. Hospitalization is often required, with substantial risks of loss of independence (64-89%) and high mortality rates (13-27%).

"Bone marrow-liver-spleen-type diffuse large B-cell lymphoma" presenting with cold autoimmune hemolytic anemia: a case report.

Introduction: Primary bone marrow diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is a rare clinical entity, and the "bone marrow-liver-spleen" type of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is rarer, with only a few published cases in literature. Though bone marrow-liver-spleen-type diffuse large B-cell lymphoma has unique presentations such as fever, cytopenias, and hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, no cases with cold autoimmune hemolytic anemia have been reported.

Case Presentation: A 39-year-old Sri Lankan woman, previously healthy, presented with shortness of breath, productive cough, and fever for 4 days.

A case report of adenomyosis-induced spontaneous rupture in an unscarred and unpregnant uterus.

Rationale: Spontaneous uterine rupture, although rare, is a life-threatening obstetric emergency with a high maternal and fetal mortality rate. It can occur without warning, leading to severe complications, including hemorrhage, shock, and fetal demise. The risk factors contributing to uterine rupture are diverse and include a history of uterine surgery (such as cesarean section), trauma to the uterus, abnormal uterine contractions during labor, and underlying conditions like adenomyosis.

Estimation of effective dose and ridk of exposure-induced cancer death,and diagnostic reference level for CT scans in Tabriz, Iran.

This study aimed to estimate the effective dose and the risk of exposure-induced cancer death (REID), as well as to establish diagnostic reference levels (DRLs) for common CT examinations conducted in Tabriz, Iran. The investigation included adult patients undergoing abdomen-pelvis, brain, neck, sinus, and chest CT scans. Patient data, exposure parameters, and radiation dose metrics, such as volume CT dose index (CTDI) and dose length product (DLP), were collected and analyzed.

Performance of PSMA-PET/CT as verified by bone biopsy for diagnosing osseous metastases of prostate cancer.

Objective: Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-PET/CT has shown considerable promise in the evaluation of prostate cancer bone metastases; however, data utilizing a histopathologic reference standard in this setting are limited. We therefore sought to evaluate the diagnostic performance of PSMA-PET/CT using a consistent histopathologic gold standard in the form of bone biopsy.

Materials And Methods: In this single-center, retrospective study, we identified 80 patients with prostate cancer who underwent CT-guided bone biopsy of a tracer-avid osseous lesion on PSMA-PET/CT performed with F-piflufolastat.

Ultrasonographic evaluation of diastasis recti abdominis and its association with pelvic floor dysfunction in postpartum women: a cross-sectional study of a two-year retrospective cohort.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the ultrasonographic findings of Diastasis Recti Abdominis (DRA) in postpartum women, explore associated risk factors, and assess the relationship between DRA and pelvic floor dysfunction.

Methods: This retrospective cross-sectional study included 143 parturient women diagnosed with DRA at our institution from January 2022 to December 2023. The study aimed to assess the ultrasonographic characteristics and clinical implications of DRA in postpartum women.

Directly anterior approach for total hip arthroplasty with an acetabular structural bone graft for developmental dysplasia of the hip (Crowe III and IV): a concise 5-year follow-up evaluation.

Background: This study evaluated the results of total hip arthroplasty (THA) via the direct anterior approach (DAA) in the lateral decubitus position combined with acetabular reconstruction via a bulk autograft for patients with developmental dysplasia of the hip (Crowe III and IV).

Patients And Methods: A retrospective study was conducted to analyse 16 patients (16 hips) with Crowe type III and IV developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) who underwent THA from June 2016 to July 2021. We recorded and analysed variables such as age, sex, height, body mass index (BMI), length of surgical incision, duration of surgery, intraoperative blood loss, Harris hip score, visual analogue scale (VAS) score, lower limb length, and pelvic radiograph analysis.

The value of restriction spectrum imaging in predicting lymph node metastases in rectal cancer: a comparative study with diffusion-weighted imaging and diffusion kurtosis imaging.

Background: To investigate the efficacy of three-compartment restriction spectrum imaging (RSI), diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI), and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) in the assessment of lymph node metastases (LNM) in rectal cancer.

Methods: A total of 77 patients with rectal cancer who underwent pelvic MRI were enrolled. RSI-derived parameters (f, f, and f), DKI-derived parameters (D and K), and the DWI-derived parameter (ADC) were calculated and compared using a Mann-Whitney U test or independent samples t-test.

Background: Antenatal hydronephrosis (ANH) is one of the most common abnormalities detected during prenatal ultrasound. There is significant variability in the postnatal management of ANH. Our objective was to report the outcomes of patients with ANH, spontaneous resolution rates, surgical intervention rates, and factors contributing to these parameters.

Clinical outcomes of open reduction and internal fixation combined with sartorius muscle iliac bone graft transplantation for displaced femoral neck fractures in middle-aged and young adults: a retrospective analysis of 24 cases.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the clinical outcomes and complications of open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) combined with sartorius muscle iliac bone graft transplantation (SIBFT) in the treatment of displaced femoral neck fractures in middle-aged and young adults.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 26 patients under the age of 60 with displaced femoral neck fractures (Pauwels III or Garden III-IV) treated at our institution between April 2019 to July 2022. All patients underwent open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) through the Smith-Petersen (S-P) approach, augmented with a sartorius muscle iliac bone graft transplantation.

Development and validation of a radiomics-based nomogram for predicting pathological grade of upper urinary tract urothelial carcinoma.

Background: Upper urinary tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) is a rare and highly aggressive malignancy characterized by poor prognosis, making the accurate identification of high-grade (HG) UTUC essential for subsequent treatment strategies. This study aims to develop and validate a nomogram model using computed tomography urography (CTU) images to predict HG UTUC.

Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted to include patients with UTUC who underwent radical nephroureterectomy and received a CTU examination prior to surgery.

Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor: a study of CT, MRI, PET/CT multimodal imaging features and their correlations with pathology.

Purpose: Exploring the computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (FDG-PET)/CT Multimodal Imaging Characteristics of Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor (DSRCT) to enhance the diagnostic proficiency of this condition.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on clinical data and multimodal imaging manifestations (CT, MRI, FDG-PET/CT) of eight cases of DSRCT. These findings were systematically compared with pathological results to succinctly summarize imaging features and elucidate their associations with both clinical and pathological characteristics.

Radiotherapy & total neoadjuvant therapy for recurrent rectal cancer in previously irradiated patients, (RETRY): a multicenter prospective observational study.

Background: Local recurrence of rectal cancer (LRRC) previously treated with radiotherapy is associated with a poor prognosis. Historically, the integration of radiotherapy (RT) with surgery has improved the likelihood of complete resections (R0) and, consequently, enhanced survival. Unfortunately, many LRRC cases are not amenable to surgical intervention.

Can surface landmarks help us identify the gibson interval during surgical hip dislocation: a study of 617 hips.

Introduction: The Gibson approach, used in hip-preserving surgery, is intermuscular and develops the space anteriorly to the gluteus maximus. Reliable anatomical landmarks for the development of this interval do not exist, but the interval is marked by perforating vessels (PV) of the inferior gluteal artery. The aim of this study was to provide reference values for the relationship between palpable anatomical landmarks on the femur/pelvis and the anterior border of the gluteus maximus using CT scans of the proximal femur.

Challenging the giant: A case report on a huge sacrococcygeal chordoma and its radiological insights.

Mycotic aortic aneurysm secondary to spondylodiscitis: A case report and review.

Mycotic aneurysms are a rare but potentially life-threatening complication of infections, particularly those involving the spine. Spondylodiscitis, a bacterial or fungal infection of the intervertebral disc, is a known risk factor for the development of mycotic aneurysms. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment are crucial for improving patient outcomes.

Management of primary hepatic pregnancy: A case report.

Hepatic pregnancy, an exceedingly rare subtype of abdominal ectopic pregnancy, remains clinically challenging due to its infrequency, diverse presentations, and diagnostic difficulties. We report the clinical course, diagnostic journey and treatment of a woman with a primary hepatic pregnancy. The patient presented with acute pain in the right hypochondrium and vomiting.

Background/objectives: Anal incontinence is linked to pelvic floor dysfunction. Diagnosis involves assessing both the function and structure of the anorectal unit. Although transperineal ultrasound has gained attention as a less invasive option, its effectiveness as a diagnostic tool for evaluating the relationship between structure and function is still debated.

Lumbosacral transitional vertebrae in small-breed dogs: Prevalence, classification, and characteristics.

The lumbosacral transitional vertebra (LTV) is an abnormally formed vertebra that can be associated with cauda equina syndrome, lumbosacral (LS) degeneration, and pelvic rotation. However, there is little information on LTV in small-breed dogs, and no studies have investigated the association between LTV and LS diseases or degenerative changes in the coxofemoral joints. The purpose of this multicenter, retrospective, and cross-sectional study was to determine the prevalence of LTV in small-breed dogs (<10 kg), classify the type of LTV, and identify its association with degenerative changes in the LS and coxofemoral joints using CT images.

Clinical application and prognostic value of computed tomography examination in foals diagnosed with osteomyelitis: Forty-four cases.

Computed tomography (CT) is increasingly recognized as superior to conventional imaging methods for diagnosing osteomyelitis in foals. However, comprehensive studies in this area are limited. This study aims to report on clinical cases of osteomyelitis in foals, establishing a relationship between CT findings and survival outcomes.

Anogenital distance on MRI does not correlate to surgical diagnosis of endometriosis in patients without prior abdominal surgery.

Anogenital distance (AGD) is regarded as a potential biomarker for endometriosis, and a measurement on MRI images has been found to be promising. This study aimed to evaluate the measurement of AGD on MRI to predict the surgical diagnosis of endometriosis. We included 127 patients who received an MRI for endometriosis between October 2018 and February 2023.
