Stanene, composed of tin atoms, is a member of 2D-Xenes, two-dimensional single element materials. The properties of the stanene can be changed and improved by applying deformation, and it is important to know the range of in-plane deformation that the stanene can withstand. Using the Tersoff interatomic potential for calculation of phonon frequencies, the range of stability of planar stanene under uniform in-plane deformation is analyzed and compared with the known data for graphene.

Delocalized nonlinear vibrational modes (DNVMs) are exact solutions of the equations of motion, and therefore, DNVMs exist at any vibration amplitude and do not depend on interaction potentials. For the first time, modulation instability of four one-component three-dimensional DNVMs is studied in a single crystal of fcc copper with the use of methods of molecular dynamics. DNVMs frequencies, evolution of stresses, kinetic and potential energies, and heat capacity depending on the oscillation amplitudes are analyzed.

Determining the solubility of non-hydrocarbon gases such as carbon dioxide (CO) and nitrogen (N) in water and brine is one of the most controversial challenges in the oil and chemical industries. Although many researches have been conducted on solubility of gases in brine and water, very few researches investigated the solubility of power plant flue gases (CO-N mixtures) in aqueous solutions. In this study, using six intelligent models, including Random Forest, Decision Tree (DT), Gradient Boosting-Decision Tree (GB-DT), Adaptive Boosting-Decision Tree (AdaBoost-DT), Adaptive Boosting-Support Vector Regression (AdaBoost-SVR), and Gradient Boosting-Support Vector Regression (GB-SVR), the solubility of CO-N mixtures in water and brine solutions was predicted, and the results were compared with four equations of state (EOSs), including Peng-Robinson (PR), Soave-Redlich-Kwong (SRK), Valderrama-Patel-Teja (VPT), and Perturbed-Chain Statistical Associating Fluid Theory (PC-SAFT).

The effect of the size of nickel nanoparticles on the fabrication of a Ni-graphene composite by hydrostatic pressure at 0 K followed by annealing at 1000 and 2000 K is studied by molecular dynamics simulation. Crumpled graphene, consisting of crumpled graphene flakes interconnected by van der Waals forces is chosen as the matrix for the composite and filled with nickel nanoparticles composed of 21 and 47 atoms. It is found that the main factors that affect composite fabrication are nanoparticle size, the orientation of the structural units, and temperature of the fabrication process.

Over the past three decades, carbon nanotubes and fullerenes have become remarkable objects for starting the implementation of new models and technologies in different branches of science. To a great extent, this is defined by the unique electronic and spatial properties of nanocavities due to the ramified π-electron systems. This provides an opportunity for the formation of endohedral complexes containing non-covalently bonded atoms or molecules inside fullerenes and nanotubes.
