Among the most selective catalytic systems for the hydroisomerization of C-paraffins, catalytic systems based on SAPO-11 are quite promising. In order to increase the activity and selectivity of these bifunctional catalysts, it is necessary to reduce the diffusion restrictions for the reacting molecules and their products in the microporous structure of SAPO-11 by reducing the crystal size. To solve this problem, we have studied the influence of different templates (diethylamine, dipropylamine, diisopropylamine, and dibutylamine) on the physicochemical properties of reaction gels and SAPO-11 silicoaluminophosphates during their crystallization.

This paper proposes a method for synthesizing granular ZSM-23 zeolite with a high degree of crystallinity and hierarchical porous structure. This method is based on crystallizing granules composed of powdered ZSM-23 zeolite and a specially prepared amorphous aluminosilicate. It has been shown that these granules have superior mechanical strength compared to granular zeolite-containing materials, which are made from a mixture of ZSM-23 zeolite crystals and AlO.

Gas inflow control in oil wells is one of the most challenging types of repair and sealing operations, the success rate of which does not exceed, as a rule, 30%. Conventional shutoff methods are often ineffective for this purpose. For instance, cement solutions cannot be injected into wells in the required volumes, while gel screens can only temporarily block the breakthrough zones, as gas easily seeps through the gel, forming new channels for gas inflow.

Conventional assumptions about multiphase flow in gas condensate reservoirs often do not correlate with field production. This discrepancy stems from the various mechanisms influencing the multiphase process, which are inadequately represented in numerical models. One of the least understood mechanisms is the influence of the non-equilibrium thermodynamics on the flow in the wellbore region, where the reservoir pressure is below the dew point pressure.

Resonant electron capture by aza and diaza derivatives of phenanthrene (7,8-benzoquinoline and 1,10-phenanthroline) and anthracene (acridine and phenazine) at incident free electron energies (Ee) in the range of 0-15 eV was studied. All compounds except 7,8-benzoquinoline form long-lived molecular ions (M-) at thermal electron energies (Ee ∼ 0 eV). Acridine and phenazine also form such ions at epithermal electron energies up to Ee = 1.

Precise measurement and prediction of the fluid flow rates in production wells are crucial for anticipating the production volume and hydrocarbon recovery and creating a steady and controllable flow regime in such wells. This study suggests two approaches to predict the flow rate through wellhead chokes. The first is a data-driven approach using different methods, namely: Adaptive boosting support vector regression (Adaboost-SVR), multivariate adaptive regression spline (MARS), radial basis function (RBF), and multilayer perceptron (MLP) with three algorithms: Levenberg-Marquardt (LM), bayesian-regularization (BR), and scaled conjugate gradient (SCG).

A thermal diode or rectifier is a system that transmits heat or energy in one direction better than in the opposite direction. We investigate the influence of the distribution of energy among wave numbers on the diode effect for the junction of two dissimilar harmonic chains. An analytical expression for the diode coefficient, characterizing the difference between heat fluxes through the junction in two directions, is derived.

Accurate prediction of fuel deposition during crude oil pyrolysis is pivotal for sustaining the combustion front and ensuring the effectiveness of in-situ combustion enhanced oil recovery (ISC EOR). Employing 2071 experimental TGA datasets from 13 diverse crude oil samples extracted from the literature, this study sought to precisely model crude oil pyrolysis. A suite of robust machine learning techniques, encompassing three black-box approaches (Categorical Gradient Boosting-CatBoost, Gaussian Process Regression-GPR, Extreme Gradient Boosting-XGBoost), and a white-box approach (Genetic Programming-GP), was employed to estimate crude oil residue at varying temperature intervals during TGA runs.

The Effect of Copper-Graphene Composite Architecture on Thermal Transport Efficiency.

Materials (Basel)

November 2023

The World-Class Advanced Digital Technologies Research Center, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, 29 Polytechnicheskaya Str., 195251 St. Petersburg, Russia.

This paper presents the results of molecular dynamic modeling, revealing that inserting confined graphene layers into copper crystal reduces the thermal conductivity of the whole composite, and the coefficient of thermal conductivity decreases upon an increase in the number of graphene layers. The injection of one, two, and three layers of 15 nm graphene leads to a change in the coefficient of thermal conductivity from 380 W/(m·K) down to 205.9, 179.

World-Class Research Center «Efficient Development of the Global Liquid Hydrocarbon Reserves», Faculty of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, National University of Oil and Gas «Gubkin University», 65 Lenin Avenue, Building 1, 119991 Moscow, Russia.

The use of gels in oil production processes has become a regular practice in oilfield operations and is constantly developing in all oil-producing countries of the world, as evidenced by the growth of publications and patent activity on this topic. Many oil production processes, such as hydraulic fracturing, conformance control, water, and gas shutoff, cannot be imagined without the use of gel technologies. Inorganic, organic, and hybrid gels are used, as well as foams, gel-forming, and gel-dispersed systems.

The nonlinear dynamics of a one-dimensional molecular crystal in the form of a chain of planar coronene molecules is analyzed. Using molecular dynamics, it is shown that a chain of coronene molecules supports acoustic solitons, rotobreathers, and discrete breathers. An increase in the size of planar molecules in a chain leads to an increase in the number of internal degrees of freedom.

The search for ways to increase plant productivity in drought conditions is of fundamental importance, since soil moisture deficiency is widespread and leads to critical crop losses. The aim of this study was to identify the effects of plant growth-promoting bacteria and humic substances on the growth, chlorophyll, flavonoids, nitrogen balance index, and concentration of cytokinins and abscisic acids in wheat plants grown in the laboratory under conditions of water deficit. An increase in the accumulation of plant mass was shown during the treatment of wheat plants with 2,4-D and humic substances in these conditions.

Soil fertility analysis in the Republic of Bashkortostan.

Sci Rep

December 2022

Department of Soil Science, Agrochemistry and Precision Agriculture, Federal State Budgetary Educational Establishment of Higher Education, "Bashkir State Agrarian University", Ufa, Russia.

The manuscript presents the materials of soil fertility analysis of agricultural lands in the north-eastern forest-steppe of the Republic of Bashkortostan in the conditions of the Salavatskiy district of the republic (Russian Federation). Agrochemical analysis of the humus accumulation, mobile phosphorus, exchangeable potassium was carried out, morphological properties were studied, the thickness of the humus horizon, granulometric composition and soil erosion were determined. During the 49-year period of agricultural land use, it was revealed some of the medium-humus soils passed into the category of high-humus, caused by the fact that the arable lands were not used for cultivating crops and they were withdrawn from circulation and sown with many-year-old grasses.
