Biological remediation of agricultural soils contaminated with oil is complicated by the presence of residual amounts of chemical plant protection products, in particular, herbicides, which, like oil, negatively affect the soil microbiome and plants. In this work, we studied five strains of bacteria of the genera and , which exhibited a high degree of oil biodegradation (72-96%). All strains showed resistance to herbicides based on 2,4-D, imazethapyr and tribenuron-methyl, the ability to fix nitrogen, phosphate mobilization, and production of indole-3-acetic acid.

Bacteria of the genus are the most studied microorganisms that biodegrade persistent perfluoroorganic pollutants, and the research of their application for the remediation of environmental sites using biotechnological approaches remains relevant. The aim of this study was to investigate the ability of a known destructor of perfluorooctane sulfonic acid from the genus to accelerate and enhance the destruction of long-chain perfluorocarboxylic acids (PFCAs), specifically perfluorooctanoic acid and perfluorononanoic acid, in water and soil in association with the strain . 5(3), which has previously confirmed genetic potential for the degrading of PFCAs.

Currently, pJP4 is one of the best-known plasmids for the biodegradation of xenobiotics that mediate the degradation of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D), which is associated with serious health and environmental risks. Although the sequencing and proposed theory of pJP4 formation occurred almost 20 years ago (2004), pJP4 is still the model object of many studies focused on the biodegradation of 2,4-D. The uniqueness of this plasmid is due to the presence of two evolutionarily distinct gene clusters, and , controlling the degradation of 2,4-D.

Little information is available on how rhizosphere bacteria affect abscisic acid (ABA) levels in plants and whether these bacterial effects are associated with improved plant water status. In this study, we tested the hypothesis that the stimulation of plant growth may be associated with the ability of ABA to increase the hydraulic conductivity of roots through the up-regulation of aquaporin. Most chemical pesticides, in addition to their main functions (protection against diseases, weeds, and pests), also have a noticeable inhibitory effect on target crops.
