Objective: To demonstrate that it is possible to pursue teeth whitening treatment protocols during orthodontic treatment with no esthetic loss.
Clinical Considerations: Many patients undergoing orthodontic treatment desire to have a straight and well aligned dentition, but also whiter teeth. For many years, it was believed that carrying out a whitening treatment with positioned orthodontic brackets in place would result in localized spots on the enamel labial surfaces of teeth.

Background: Furcal perforation consists of a communication between the pulp cavity and the periodontal tissues that can occur accidentally during cavity preparation or root canal instrumentation. This complication may lead to inflammatory reactions and compromise adjacent tissues irreversibly, resulting in the early loss of primary teeth. Perforation sealing with a biocompatible material is necessary to ensure a favourable prognosis.

Although there is a concomitance of zinc deficiency and high incidence/mortality for hepatocellular carcinoma in certain human populations, there are no experimental studies investigating the modifying effects of zinc on hepatocarcinogenesis. Thus, we evaluated whether dietary zinc deficiency or supplementation alter the development of hepatocellular preneoplastic lesions (PNL). Therefore, neonatal male Balb/C mice were submitted to a diethylnitrosamine/2-acetylaminefluorene-induced hepatocarcinogenesis model.

This study has evaluated how the vascular endothelium of hypertensive rats chronically treated with apocynin affects acetylcholine (ACh), sodium nitroprusside (SNP), and phenylephrine (PE) action on the nitric oxide (NO) signal transduction pathway in endothelial (EC) and vascular smooth muscle cells. Treatment with apocynin significantly reduced the mean arterial pressure in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR). In addition, apocynin improved the impaired ACh hypotensive effect on SHR.
