We present state-to-state differential cross sections for rotationally inelastic collisions of vibrationally excited NO XΠ ( = 9) with Ar using a near-counterpropagating molecular beam geometry. These were obtained using the stimulated emission pumping technique coupled with velocity map imaging. Collision energies well over ∼1 eV were achieved and rotational excitations up to ∼Δ = 60 recorded for the first time for inelastic collisions.

The Patient Acceptable Symptom State (PASS), an evidence-based threshold defining perceived outcomes, may be a useful indicator of strength and functional performance.

CLN2 disease (late infantile neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis) is an autosomal recessive, neurodegenerative lysosomal storage disease that results from loss of function mutations in the gene, which encodes tripeptidyl peptidase 1. It affects the central nervous system (CNS) with progressive neurodegeneration and early death, typically at ages from 8 to 12 years. Twenty years ago, our phase I clinical trial treated subjects with CLN2 disease by a catheter-based CNS administration of an adeno-associated virus vector serotype 2 (AAV2) expressing the gene.

Fenpyrazamine (FPA) is a widely used fungicide in agriculture to control fungal diseases, but its environmental degradation by oxidants and the formation of potential degradation products remain unexplored. This study investigates the oxidation of FPA by hydroxyl radicals (HO˙) using density functional theory (DFT) calculations at the M06-2X/6-311++G(3df,3pd)//M06-2X/6-31+G(d,p) level of theory. Three standard oxidation mechanisms, including formal hydrogen transfer (FHT), radical adduct formation (RAF), and single electron transfer (SET), were evaluated in the aqueous phase, with reaction kinetics analyzed over a temperature range of 283-333 K.

Advancements in bulk and microfluidic emulsion methodologies have enabled highly efficient, high-throughput implementations of biochemical assays. Spray-based techniques offer rapid generation, droplet immobilization, and accessibility, but remain relatively underutilized, likely because they result in random and polydisperse droplets. However, the polydisperse characteristic can be leveraged; at sufficiently high droplet numbers, sequential sprays will generate mixed droplets which effectively populate a combinatorial space.

The increasing use of immune suppressive monoclonal antibodies in the treatment of organ transplant recipients and patients with oncologic, neurological, and autoimmune diseases can lead to serious morbidity and mortality from the reactivation of viral agents that persist in humans. The squirrel monkey polyomaviruses are naturally found in Bolivian squirrel monkeys (SQM) and may be a useful model for the study of polyomavirus-associated pathogenesis and experimental treatment and prevention strategies. Two diverse groups of squirrel monkeys were given, a single dose of an anti-B cell antibody (rituximab) resulting in complete depletion of B cells (CD20+), while an anti-CD8 monoclonal antibody (7 pt-3F9) resulted in a transient depletion of CD8+ lymphocytes compared with control animals (group with no infusion with either of the monoclonal antibodies).

Background: Patients with transfemoral amputation experience socket-related problems and musculoskeletal overuse injuries, both of which are exacerbated by asymmetric joint loading and alignment. Bone-anchored limbs are a promising alternative to treat chronic socket-related problems by directly attaching the prosthesis to the residual limb through an osseointegrated implant; however, it remains unknown how changes in alignment facilitated through a bone-anchored limb relate to loading asymmetry.

Questions/purposes: What is the association between femur-pelvis alignment and hip loading asymmetry during walking before and 12 months after transfemoral bone-anchored limb implantation?

Monolayer assembly of charged colloidal particles at liquid interfaces opens a new avenue for advancing the additive manufacturing of thin film materials and devices with tailored properties. In this study, we investigated the dynamics of electrosprayed colloidal particles at curved droplet interfaces through a combination of physics-based computational simulations and machine learning. As the number of coronavirus diseases-2019 (COVID-19) cases have decreased and measures have started to be implemented at an individual level rather than in the form of social restrictions, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) still maintains its importance and has already taken its place in the spectrum of agents investigated in multiplex molecular test panels for respiratory tract infections in routine diagnostic use. In this study, we aimed to present mutation analysis and clade distribution of whole genome sequences from randomly selected samples that tested positive with SARS-CoV-2 specific real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (rRT-PCR) test at different periods of the pandemic in our laboratory with a commercial easy-to-use kit designed for next-generation sequencing systems. A total of 84 nasopharyngeal/oropharyngeal swab samples of COVID-19 suspected patients which were sent for routine diagnosis to the medical microbiology laboratory and detected as SARSCoV-2 RNA positive with rRT-PCR were randomly selected from different periods for sequence analysis.

Expression of SRY-box transcription factor 17 (Sox17) in the endodermal region caudal to the hepatic diverticulum during late gastrulation is necessary for hepato-pancreato-biliary system formation. Analysis of an allelic series of promoter-proximal mutations near the transcription start site (TSS) 2 of Sox17 has revealed that gallbladder (GB) and extrahepatic bile duct (EHBD) development is exquisitely sensitive to Sox17 expression levels. Deletion of a SOX17-binding cis-regulatory element in the TSS2 promoter impairs GB&EHBD development by reducing outgrowth of the nascent biliary bud.

In this work, we investigate anharmonic vibrational polaritons formed due to strong light-matter interactions in an optical cavity between radiation modes and anharmonic vibrations beyond the long-wavelength limit. We introduce a conceptually simple description of light-matter interactions, where spatially localized cavity radiation modes couple to localized vibrations. Within this theoretical framework, we employ self-consistent phonon theory and vibrational dynamical mean-field theory to efficiently simulate momentum-resolved vibrational-polariton spectra, including effects of anharmonicity.
