People with mosaicism for trisomy 21 have been shown to exhibit many of the same phenotypic traits present in people with non-mosaic Down syndrome, but with varying symptom severity. However, the behavioral phenotype of people with mosaic Down syndrome (mDS) has not been well characterized. This study aimed to examine the prevalence of self-report and caregiver-report symptoms of depression and anxiety among a sample of 62 participants with mDS aged 12-46 and assess their association with the percentage of trisomy 21 in blood and/or buccal mucosa cells.

Oral N-acetylcysteine (NAC) has shown efficacy for debilitating habit-driven and neuropsychiatric disorders in small, mostly adult studies. We retrospectively evaluated the therapeutic use and safety of oral NAC in 93 children from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Bosutinib for the Treatment of CML-Using it Safely: a Podcast.

Bosutinib is a second-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) approved for use in patients with newly diagnosed Philadelphia chromosome (Ph)-positive chronic phase (CP) chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), as well as Ph-positive CP, accelerated phase, or blast phase (with chemotherapy) CML resistant or intolerant to prior therapy. Clinical trials have shown bosutinib is effective as first-line therapy for patients with CML as well as in later lines of therapy after prior TKI failure. Bosutinib has an established safety profile; however, as with all TKIs approved for the treatment of CML, there are adverse events (AEs) that require management.

During the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant (FDNPP) accident on March 11, 2011, radionuclides such as tritium were released into the environment across Japan, obscuring the natural background signal of tritium in precipitation. This anthropogenic component was rapidly washed out by precipitation according to measurements in Japan. However, the impact of the accident on the natural tritium-based estimation of water system transit times in Fukushima and other prefectures in Japan remains uncertain.

Optimizing hydrophilic drug incorporation into SEDDS using dry reverse micelles: a comparative study of preparation methods.

Aim: It was the aim of this study to compare two different dry reverse micelle (RM) preparation methods for the incorporation of hydrophilic drugs into oral self-emulsifying drug delivery systems (SEDDS).

Methods: Cationic ethacridine lactate, anionic fluorescein sodium salt and the antibiotic peptide bacitracin were solubilized in RM containing sodium docusate, soy phosphatidylcholine and sorbitan monooleate in highly lipophilic oils such as squalane. In the dry addition (DA) method, drugs were directly added to empty RM in their powder form.

Bibliometric analysis of trends in dental management of the children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This study aimed to present a complete overview of the trends, difficulties, and improvements in dental treatment for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder through rigorous bibliometric analysis. The dimensional database field was chosen to enable the inclusion and recall of the greatest number of relevant entries. All peer-reviewed international journals published between 2004 and 2023 were included in this study.

Comparison of patient-reported symptoms with multi-item patient-reported outcome measures of fatigue, anxiety, and depression in the clinical care of women undergoing chemotherapy for early breast cancer.

Background: As patient-reported symptoms are increasingly incorporated into routine clinical practice and captured in electronic medical records these data can be used to conduct health-related quality of life research studies. This study compares symptom reports from the Patient-Reported Outcomes version of the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (PRO-CTCAE) and its precursor patient reported symptom monitoring (PRSM) (hereafter PRSM/PRO-CTCAE) with multi-item patient-reported outcome (PRO) scales for fatigue (Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy/FACIT-Fatigue) and depression and anxiety (Mental Health Index/MHI).

Methods: This is a secondary analysis of data collected from women with early breast cancer (Stage I-III) scheduled for chemotherapy who completed PRSM/PRO-CTCAE, FACIT-Fatigue, and MHI scales pre- and post-chemotherapy.

Background: Octreotide is commonly used to treat hypoglycemia due to sulfonylurea toxicity, but optimal dosing for this indication is not well defined.

Methods: We performed a systematic review to identify cases in the medical literature of octreotide use for sulfonylurea poisoning. Literature published on octreotide and sulfonylureas between octreotide's FDA approval on 10/21/1988 and 8/15/2024 was reviewed.

Efficacy of brief behavioral and sleep hygiene education with mindfulness intervention on sleep, social jetlag and mental health in adolescence: a pilot study.
