Supporting the Individualized Use of Digital Tools in Community Mental Health: The Technology Specialist Pilot Study.

This pilot study evaluated the feasibility of the technology specialist intervention, which assists clients in achieving mental health recovery and well-being goals via existing digital tools in a real-world community mental health setting. Thirteen adult clients with serious mental illness and their providers completed baseline, 3-, and 6-month assessments, including goal setting, self-efficacy, activation, and acceptability measures, along with weekly ecological momentary assessments. Clients selected goals and corresponding tools, used the tools steadily, and showed improvement in activation and self-efficacy.

Low-temperature vacuum evaporation as a novel dehydration process for the long-term preservation of transplantable human corneal tissue.

Globally there is a shortage of available donor corneas with only 1 cornea available for every 70 needed. A large limitation to corneal transplant surgery is access to quality donor tissue due to inadequate eye donation services and infrastructure in many countries, compounded by the fact that there are few available long-term storage solutions for effectively preserving spare donor corneas collected in countries with a surplus. In this study, we describe a novel technology termed low-temperature vacuum evaporation (LTVE) that can effectively dry-preserve surplus donor corneal tissue, allowing it to be stored for approximately 5 years, shipped at room temperature, and stored on hospital shelves before rehydration prior to ophthalmic surgery.

Purpose Of Review: With the growing popularity and broadening indications for Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty (RSA), increasing modularity in design and adjustments to each component can enhance postoperative range of motion (ROM), thus expanding treatment capabilities. This review outlines the advancements developed to optimize ROM through modifications in glenoid and humeral components and the integration of computational tools for surgical planning.

Recent Findings: Enhancements in glenoid component design aim to mitigate complications like scapular notching and improve ROM, particularly in abduction and external rotation.

Methods: Males and females with Rome III IBS-D completed questionnaires and kept a daily symptom diary for 28 days.

Background: The anticancer activity and radiosensitizing effect of Auranofin, an an-tirheumatic and an approved gold metallic drug, have been investigated from multiple perspectives. In this study, the action of the new gold complex compound TPN-Au(I)-MM4 was compared with that of auranofin.

Methods: The inhibitory effect of 10 μM and 50 μM concentrations on cell proliferation was investigated using the human colon cancer cell lines HCT116 and SW480.

Objectives: This cross-sectional study aimed to evaluate the occurrence of Streptococcus spp., Streptococcus mutans, its serotypes (c, e, f, and k), collagen-binding genes (cnm/cbm), and Candida albicans in medium deep (D2) and deep (D3) dentin carious lesions of permanent teeth.

Materials And Methods: Carious dentin was collected from D2 (n = 23) and D3 (n = 24) lesions in posterior teeth from 31 individuals.

Analytical expressions of specific yield for shallow groundwater estimation and modeling.

Specific yield (S) is an essential hydrogeological parameter in groundwater-related modeling and estimation. In this study, we proposed several new analytical expressions of S to characterize the nonlinear variations of S under shallow groundwater environments, encompassing S for three-layered soil, transition zone S, and flux-dependent S (in Boussinesq-type equation). The proposed S expression for three-layered soils expanded the applicability of previous expressions for homogeneous soil.

Anomalous Left Coronary Artery from the Pulmonary Artery in Three Patients with MYRF-Associated Cardiac-Urogenital Syndrome.

Cardiac-Urogenital Syndrome (CUGS) is a recently identified genetic disease characterized by urogenital, diaphragmatic, ophthalmic, and cardiac abnormalities caused by heterozygous pathogenic variants in the Myelin Regulatory Factor (MYRF) gene. The complete spectrum of disease characteristics and prevalence is not yet defined. This report documents the first known cases of anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery (ALCAPA) in MYRF-associated Cardiac-Urogenital Syndrome (MYRF-CUGS).

Preoperative Oral Feeding in Infants with Congenital Heart Disease Within the First Month of Life is Associated with a Higher Likelihood of Freedom From Tube Feeding at Time of Postoperative Discharge.

Though several studies have demonstrated that preoperative oral feeding (PO) can be safe in patients with congenital heart disease, they are commonly prohibited from doing so, potentially precluding the development of such skills. We sought to determine whether preoperative oral feeding is associated with freedom from tube feeding at postoperative discharge. Single-center, observational study including patients in the first month of life (≤ 30 days of age) who underwent a single cardiac surgery between 7/1/2017-6/30/2022 and survived to discharge.

Long-term kidney outcomes in survivors of Wilms tumor: a single-center retrospective cohort study.

Background: Several studies have investigated long-term kidney outcomes in survivors of Wilms tumor (WT). However, many have small sample sizes, and there is a wide variation in reported outcomes. The aim of this study is to investigate the long-term kidney outcomes in survivors of WT (S-WT), including those patients considered to be at high risk for poor kidney outcomes, and using updated estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) equations.

Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Image Enhancing Filters on Patient Expectations for Plastic Surgery Outcomes.
