Background: The 2018 Physical Activity Guidelines 2nd Edition Advisory Committee Scientific Report recommended research to understand whether the health benefits of physical activity (PA) differed by sociodemographic factors. This study examined associations between meeting PA guidelines in leisure time and all-cause, heart disease, and cancer mortality across sociodemographic characteristics.

Methods: Nationally representative data on 567,483 eligible US adults from the 1998-2018 US National Health Interview Survey and 2019 public-use linked mortality files were used.

After validating its accuracy with two independent datasets, we applied NEEDLE to identify transcription factors (TFs) regulating the expression of cellulose synthase-like F6 (CSLF6), a crucial cell wall biosynthetic gene, in Brachypodium and sorghum.

High-density lipoprotein (HDL) particle diameter distribution is informative in the diagnosis of many conditions, including Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, obtaining an accurate HDL size measurement is challenging. We demonstrated the utility of measuring the diameter of more than 1,800,000 HDL particles with the deep learning model YOLOv7 (you only look once) from micrographs of 183 HDL samples, including patients with dementia or normal cognition (controls).

Objective: To develop and validate a county deprivation index (CDI) that assesses socio-economic disparities and their impact on health outcomes at the county level.

Study Design: A retrospective, cross-sectional study using publicly available county-level data.

Methods: Hierarchical cluster analysis was used to group 18 county-level socio-economic indicators into three clusters: economic well-being and technical connectivity, socio-economic disadvantage and vulnerability, and housing affordability and quality of life.

However, data limitations and the inherent selectivity of housing insecurity have hindered comprehensive analysis of its long-term effects on physiological and mental health. This study uses data from The National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent to Adult Health (Add Health) to construct a sample of participants who experienced housing insecurity between the ages of 18-26 (Wave III) to a suitable control group using propensity score matching.

In this paper, we derive diffusion equation models in the spectral domain to study the evolution of the training error of two-layer multiscale deep neural networks (MscaleDNN) (Cai and Xu, 2019; Liu et al., 2020), which is designed to reduce the spectral bias of fully connected deep neural networks in approximating oscillatory functions. The diffusion models are obtained from the spectral form of the error equation of the MscaleDNN, derived with a neural tangent kernel approach and gradient descent training and a sine activation function, assuming a vanishing learning rate and infinite network width and domain size.

Gestational 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25[OH]D) is important in fetal lung development and may influence offspring respiratory outcomes, making accurate exposure assessment essential to understand clinical associations. Therefore, we used the combined data from two large RCTs investigating prenatal vitamin D supplementation, which included early and late prenatal 25(OH)D measurements, to refine a population pharmacokinetic model of vitamin D-25(OH)D and estimate individual area under the curve (AUC) Z-scores. The primary outcome was physician-diagnosed offspring asthma/wheezing at ages 3 and 6 years, and lung function, as a secondary outcome, was evaluated by spirometry at the ages 6 and 8 years.
