Introduction: The association between adult child educational attainment and older parent's cognitive health may vary across diverse contexts but cross-national comparisons have been limited by differences in outcome assessment, study design, and analytic choices.
Methods: We used harmonized data with comprehensive cognitive assessments from the United States (N = 3088), India (N = 3828), and Mexico (N = 1875) to estimate associations between adult child education and older adults' cognitive functioning using linear regression models adjusted for respondent and family-level socio-economic status (SES) in each study.
Results: Each additional year of offspring education was associated with 0.

Background: Hydration and urine alkalinization are the mainstays for the prevention of methotrexate-induced nephrotoxicity. Current oncology protocols recommend pediatric patients who are administered high-dose methotrexate (HDMTX) to be aggressively hydrated with an alkaline solution, which may lead to overhydration. This pilot study sought to determine whether reduced posthydration results in a shorter time to methotrexate elimination without increasing adverse effects.

Background: Sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) is associated with abnormal changes in the brain's central nervous system. Previous studies on the brain networks of SSNHL have primarily focused on functional connectivity within the brain. However, in addition to functional connectivity, structural connectivity also plays a crucial role in brain networks.

Background: Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating the efficacy of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for the management of lateral epicondylitis (LE) have been characterized by substantial variability in reported outcomes. The source of this heterogeneity is uncertain.
Purpose: To determine the effect of estimated platelet concentration on the efficacy of PRP for the management of LE.
Purpose: To evaluate longer term outcomes of the Zilver Vena Venous Stent in patients undergoing venous stenting.
Materials And Methods: Patients with iliofemoral obstructive venous disease and treated with venous stents were retrospectively enrolled in a physician-led real-world data collection effort. Results were analyzed by etiologies: post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS), non-thrombotic iliac vein lesion (NIVL), and iliocaval acute deep vein thrombosis (aDVT).

Background: Timely recognition and addressing of concomitant cartilage damage at the time of meniscal allograft transplantation (MAT) is critical to warrant future success. However, there remains a scarcity of data comparing outcomes between MAT with and without cartilage procedures.
Purpose: To compare patient-reported outcomes and rates of complications, failures, reoperations, and graft survivorship after MAT with concomitant cartilage procedures (MAT/Cart) and MAT without (MAT/NoCart).

The role of flood and drought stress on Xylosandrus ambrosia beetle attacks and colonization in nursery trees with varying levels of water stress tolerance has not yet been studied. This study aimed to examine ambrosia beetle preference for tree species varying in their tolerance to water stress. Container-grown dogwoods, redbuds, and red maples were exposed to flood, drought, or sufficient water treatments for 28 d and beetle attacks were counted every third day.

The granulate ambrosia beetle, Xylosandrus crassiusculus (Motschulsky), and the black stem borer, Xylosandrus germanus (Blandford) are important pests in ornamental nurseries in the eastern USA. These beetles are managed mainly using preventative trunk applications of pyrethroids, such as permethrin or bifenthrin when females typically fly out of woodlots and attack young trees in the spring. Verbenone and methyl salicylate are potential phytochemicals reported as repellants but not completely validated in ornamental nurseries for ambrosia beetle management as an alternative option.

Conventional ergonomic observation methods, such as rapid entire body assessment (REBA), are limited in their sensitivity and reliability, particularly in detecting changes in input variables. This study integrates fuzzy logic with the REBA method, utilizing trapezoidal membership functions to fuzzify the input variables. The center of gravity method was employed for defuzzification, and if-then rules were formulated to enhance the REBA method.

Antarctica has one of the most sensitive ecosystems to the negative effects of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) on its biodiversity. This is because of the lower temperatures and the persistence of POPs that promote their accumulation or even biomagnification. However, the impact of POPs on vascular plants is unknown.

Background: Liver transplantation is the standard therapy for end-stage liver disease in pediatric patients with biliary atresia (BA), congenital and metabolic conditions, and for an unresectable malignant tumor like hepatoblastoma (HB). BA is the leading indication for pediatric liver transplantation, while HB is the most common childhood liver cancer. Despite improved outcomes through advanced surgical techniques and novel immunosuppression, pediatric liver transplantation (pLT) is complicated by post-transplant infections.

Research on adolescence occurs across a variety of disciplines, including education, psychology, sociology, public health, biology, and medicine, among other fields, each with its own definition of the most pressing problems, levels of analysis, and proposed solutions. There is widespread recognition that human development occurs across levels simultaneously from molecular changes to broader cultural systems. Yet it remains challenging to integrate across levels and scholarly disciplines.
