Background: Orthopaedic surgery regularly employs opioids for postoperative pain management. Multimodal pain protocols have been shown to reduce opioid prescriptions in orthopaedic surgery.
Purpose: To analyze the impact of a division-level multimodal pain protocol for orthopaedic sports medicine surgery on opioid prescription reduction and pain level postoperatively.

The COVID-19 pandemic has introduced numerous challenges for Health Care Professionals, including exposing Emergency Department (ED) staff to the SARS-CoV-2 virus during Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Recent guidelines from the American Heart Association (AHA) prioritize early intubation with viral filter placement to minimize hospital staff exposure. We propose a novel technique for rapid outdoor non-compression intubation (RONCI) of cardiac arrest patients while en route from the ambulance bay to the resuscitation bay to further decrease the risk of viral aerosolization.

Introduction: Following reports of respiratory symptoms among service members returning from deployment to South West Asia (SWA), an expert panel recommended pre-deployment spirometry be used to assess disease burden. Unfortunately, testing with spirometry is high cost and time-consuming. The airflow perturbation device (APD) is a handheld monitor that rapidly measures respiratory resistance (APD-Rr) and has promising but limited clinical data.

Congenital hemangiomas (CH) are benign vascular neoplasms that proliferate in utero and have completed development by birth. Two subtypes of CH are recognized: rapidly involuting congenital hemangiomas (RICH) and non-involuting congenital hemangiomas (NICH). A 17-year-old female presented with diffuse muscle weakness secondary to severe hypokalemia, metabolic alkalosis, and hypertension. Additional findings included delayed puberty with primary amenorrhea. Laboratory evaluation led to a diagnosis of 17 alpha-hydroxylase/17,20-lyase (P450c17) deficiency, a form of congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH).
