Background: The purpose of this study was to systematically review the literature to ascertain the clinical outcomes of the Latarjet procedure in patients with seizure disorders (SD) versus controls.
Methods: Two independent reviewers performed a literature search using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PRISMA) guidelines using PubMed, Embase and Scopus databases. Only studies reporting on outcomes of the Latarjet procedure comparing patients with pre-existing SDs, or those comparing such patients versus controls were considered for inclusion.

Purpose: There are limited data about the outcome of old intensive care (ICU) patients suffering from Covid-19 in the post-vaccination era. This study distinguishes the pre- and post-acute illness living conditions of ICU survivors from non-survivors.
Methods: This prospective international multicenter study included 642 old (≥ 70 years) ICU patients, including data ranging from pre-illness condition to functional 90-days follow-up.

Cell and Gene therapy are referred to as advanced therapies that represent overlapping fields of regenerative medicine. They have similar therapeutic goals such as to modify cellular identity, improve cell function, or fight a disease. These two therapeutic avenues, however, possess major differences.

Introduction: Child abuse is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in children. The rate of missed child abuse in general emergency departments (ED), where 85% of children are evaluated, is higher than in pediatric EDs. We sought to evaluate the impact of an electronic health record (EHR)-embedded child-abuse clinical decision support system (CA-CDSS) in the identification and evaluation of child maltreatment in a network of EDs three years after implementation.

Background: Although clinical overlap between Kawasaki disease (KD) and multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) has been evident, information regarding those presenting with shock has been limited. We sought to determine associations with shock within and between diagnosis groups.
Methods: The International KD Registry enrolled contemporaneous patients with either KD or MIS-C from 39 sites in 7 countries from January 1, 2020, to January 1, 2023.

Background: The impact of disease activity and treatment on fertility outcomes in patients with spondyloarthritis (SpA) has been little explored. This study aimed to describe median time to pregnancy (TTP) in women with SpA and the factors influencing TTP in this population.
Methods: This prospective observational multicentre (63 centres) French cohort (GR2 study-NCT02450396) included consecutive women with a diagnosis of SpA (according to their rheumatologist) who wanted to become pregnant between 2015 and 2021.

Objectives: To explore the association between the extent of CT abnormalities by quantitative imaging analysis (QIA) and clinical/physiological disease parameters in patients with antisynthetase syndrome associated interstitial lung disease (ARS-ILD).
Methods: We analysed 20 patients with antisynthetase antibodies and active ILD enrolled in the Abatacept in Myositis-Associated Interstitial Lung Disease study. High-resolution chest CT was obtained at weeks 0, 24 and 48 and QIA scored the extent of ground glass (quantitative score for ground glass), fibrosis (quantitative score for lung fibrosis, QLF) and total ILD (quantitative ILD, QILD).

Introduction: Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a chronic condition marked by insulin deficiency and hyperglycemia, with an increasing global incidence, particularly among children. Despite improvements in diabetes management, individuals with T1D continue to experience higher rates of cardiovascular disease (CVD), the leading cause of mortality in this population. Traditional CVD risk factors such as dyslipidemia and poor glycemic control are insufficient to fully explain the elevated risk in T1D, prompting further investigation into additional factors.

Diabetes is a prevalent chronic disease in school-age children. To keep students with diabetes safe at school, support their long-term health, prevent complications, and ensure full participation in all school activities, proper monitoring of and response to glucose levels must be attended to throughout the school day and during all school-sponsored activities. Care coordination among the family, school, and diabetes health care professionals is critical.
