Germanium is known to occupy tetrahedral sites by substituting silicon in germanosilicate zeolites. In this study, we present pioneering findings regarding the synthesis of zeolites with an MFI structure (GeMFI) incorporating a high germanium amount (16% Ge). Remarkably, the germanium atoms feature a slight electron deficiency with respect to GeO, and the typical coordination number of 4, as usually reported for the germanosilicate zeolites, is exceeded, giving rise to Ge dimers in a double-bridge configuration.

Background: Therapeutic outcomes for patients infected by genetically divergent HIV-1/O are not well-known due to scarce data and the lack of an appropriate comparison with patients infected by pandemic HIV-1/M. We aimed to compare the immunological and virological response to cART between HIV-1/O and HIV-1/M patients followed in France.
Methods: All naïve HIV-1/O subjects initiating cART in France in ANRS-ORIVAO study were compared to naïve HIV-1/M subjects initiating cART in ANRS-COPANA cohort.

Background: The use of cerebrospinal (CSF) biomarkers in the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) has been gaining interest in clinical practice. Although their usefulness has been demonstrated, their potential value in older patients remains debated.
Objectives: To assess whether knowledge of the results of CSF AD biomarkers was associated with the same gain in diagnostic confidence in older adults > 80 than in younger patients.

Background/objectives: Cognitive deficits and negative symptoms associated with schizophrenia are poorly managed by current antipsychotics. In order to develop effective treatments, refining animal models of neurodevelopmental disorders is essential.
Methods: To address their multifactorial etiology, we developed a new three-hit mouse model based on the hypoglutamatergic hypothesis of the pathology combined with early stress, offering strong construct validity.

Background: Proton therapy (PRT) is an innovative radiotherapeutic modality for the treatment of cancer with unique ballistic properties. The depth-dose distribution of a proton beam reduces exposure of healthy tissues to radiations, compared with photon-therapy (XRT). To date, only few indications for proton-therapy, like pediatric cancers, chordomas, or intra-ocular neoplasms, are reimbursed by Health systems.

Background: Medulloblastoma (MB) is one of the most prevalent embryonal malignant brain tumors. Current classification organizes these tumors into four molecular subgroups (WNT, SHH, Group 3, and Group 4 MB). Recently, a comprehensive classification has been established, identifying numerous subtypes, some of which exhibit a poor prognosis.

Specific determinants associated with Uropathogenic (UPEC) causing recurrent cystitis are still poorly characterized. Using strains from a previous clinical study (Vitale study, clinicaltrials.gov, identifier NCT02292160) the aims of this study were (i) to describe genomic and phenotypic traits associated with recurrence using a large collection of recurrent and paired sporadic UPEC isolates and (ii) to explore within-host genomic adaptation associated with recurrence using series of 2 to 5 sequential UPEC isolates.

For several years, our society has been experiencing an aging of the population. Concurrently, there has been an observable increase in the population of nursing homes (EHPAD). The context of a global epidemic and the public health measures implemented to address it have underscored the vulnerability of our elderly population and the need for remote consultations to ensure continuity of care.

Maintaining physical function is crucial for independent living in older adults, with gait speed being a key predictor of health outcomes. Blood biomarkers may potentially monitor older adults' mobility, yet their association with slow gait speed still needs to be explored. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between blood biomarkers and gait speed using the Midlife in the United States (MIDUS) study biomarker dataset.

This review attempts to analyze the relationship between the vestibular system and the circadian timing system. The activity of the biological clock allows an organism to optimally perform its tasks throughout the nychtemeron. To achieve this, the biological clock is subjected to exogenous factors that entrain it to a 24h period.

Background: Malignant peripheral nerve-sheath tumor (MPNST) is rare, occurring in approximately 0.001% of the general population. Cases involving cranial nerves, and particularly the trigeminal nerve (V), are exceptionally rare, with only 36 cases reported in a literature review in 2013.

Introduction: Several cases of radio-induced neurotrophic keratitis had been observed after proton therapy delivering a mean corneal dose of ≥50 GyRBE. We conducted a prospective exploratory study to assess corneal sensitivity in subsequent patients undergoing proton therapy for cephalic extraocular tumors.
Material And Methods: Forty-three patients (85 eyes) treated with high-energy proton therapy were included in this prospective, single-center, observational cohort study.

While biological invasions continue to threaten biodiversity, most of current assessments focus on the sole exposure to invasive alien species (IAS), without considering native species' response to the threat. Here, we address this gap by assessing vertebrates' vulnerability to biological invasions, combining measures of both (i) exposure to 304 identified IAS and (ii) realized sensitivity of 1600 native vertebrates to this threat. We used the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species to identify species threatened by IAS, their distribution, and the species' range characteristics of their associated IAS.

Background: We hypothesized that differences in access to disease-modifying treatments (DMTs) could explain the association between socioeconomic status and disability progression in multiple sclerosis (MS).
Objective: This study aimed to analyze the association between education level and DMT use in France.
Methods: All patients from OFSEP network with MS onset over 1996-2014 and aged ⩾ 25 years at onset were included.
