Purpose: Radiation therapy (RT) exerts its anti-tumour efficacy by inducing direct damage to cancer cells but also through modification of the tumour microenvironment (TME) by inducing immunogenic antitumor response. Conversely, RT also promotes an immunosuppressive TME notably through the recruitment of regulatory T cells (Tregs). Glycoprotein A repetitions predominant (GARP), a transmembrane protein highly expressed by activated Tregs, plays a key role in the activation of TGF-β and thus promotes the immunosuppressive action of Tregs.

We present a data set resulting from the first round of a national monitoring program of forest reserves. It contains 9538 permanent plots, distributed across 111 study sites in mainland France (including Corsica). Notably focusing on dead wood measurement, this protocol has primarily been applied in strict forest reserves and special nature reserves (sensu Bollmann & Braunisch 2013), with 68% (6494) of the plots being currently located in strict forest reserves (unmanaged) and 24.

Low electronic gap graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) are used for the fabrication of nanomaterial-based devices and, when isolated, for mono-molecular electronics experiences, for which a well-controlled length is crucial. Here, an on-surface chemistry protocol is monitored for producing long and well-isolated GNR molecular wires on an Au(111) surface. The two-step Ullmann coupling reaction is sequenced in temperature from 100 °C to 350 °C by steps of 50 °C, returning at room temperature between each step and remaining in ultrahigh vacuum conditions.

A water-soluble fluorescent aza-BODIPY platform (Wazaby) was prepared and functionalized by a polyazamacrocycle agent and a bioconjugable arm. The resulting fluorescent derivative was characterized and bioconjugated onto a trastuzumab monoclonal antibody as a vector. Variable domains of heavy chain only antibodies (VHHs) are valuable agents for application in tumor theranostics upon conjugation to both a diagnostic probe and a therapeutic compound. Nanohybrids based on titanate nanotubes (TiONts) were developed to fight prostate cancer by intratumoral (IT) injection, and particular attention was paid to their step-by-step synthesis. TiONts were synthesized by a hydrothermal process. To develop the customengineered nanohybrids, the surface of TiONts was coated beforehand with a siloxane (APTES), and coupled with both dithiolated diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acidmodified gold nanoparticles (Au@DTDTPA NPs) and a heterobifunctional polymer (PEG) to significantly improve suspension stability and biocompatibility of TiONts for targeted biomedical applications.

Numerous large-scale decomposition experiments have been conducted focusing on this fundamental soil process in order to understand the controls on the terrestrial carbon transfer to the atmosphere. The nature of the Pt(111)/α-FeO(0001) interfaces revealed by DFT calculations.

Density functional theory calculations are performed to give a thorough description of structural, energetic, and electronic properties of Pt(111)/α-FeO(0001) systems by spin-polarized calculations, accounting for the on-site Coulomb interaction. Toward the better understanding of Pt(111)/α-FeO(0001) interfaces, two terminations of α-FeO(0001) surface, namely, the single Fe- and the O-termination, are considered and coupled with the four possible (top, hcp, fcc, and bridge) sites on Pt(111). The effect of the strain on clean hematite surfaces due to the lattice mismatch between the substrate and the overlayer is included in the analysis.
