The Lieb lattice is one of the simplest lattices that exhibits both linear Dirac-like and flat topological electronic bands. We propose to further tailor its electronic properties through periodic 1D electrostatic superlattices (SLs), which, in the long wavelength limit, were predicted to give rise to novel transport signatures, such as the omnidirectional super-Klein tunnelling (SKT). By numerically modelling the electronic structure at tight-binding level, we uncover the evolution of the Lieb SL band structure from the discrete all the way to the continuum regime and build a comprehensive picture of the Lieb lattice under 1D potentials.

However, few hydrogen-specific engines have ever been developed with the twin-goals of maximising low carbon energy efficiency and delivering air quality co-benefits. The total oxidation of -hexane, a hazardous volatile organic compound (VOC) emitted by the pharmaceutical industry, presents a significant environmental challenge due to limited catalyst activity at low temperatures and poor stability at high temperatures. The mucin -glycan sialyl Tn antigen (sTn, Neu5Acα2-6GalNAcα1--Ser/Thr) is an antigen associated with different types of cancers, often linked with a higher risk of metastasis and poor prognosis. Despite efforts to develop anti-sTn antibodies with high specificity for diagnostics and immunotherapy, challenges in eliciting high-affinity antibodies for glycan structures have limited their effectiveness, leading to low titers and short protection durations. Experimental structural insights into anti-sTn antibody specificity are lacking, hindering their optimization for cancer cell recognition.

Construction and optimization of stable atomically dispersed metal sites on SiO surfaces are important yet challenging topics. In this work, we developed the amino group-assisted atomic layer deposition strategy to deposit the atomically dispersed Pt on SiO support for the first time, in which the particle size and ratio of Pt entities from single atom (Pt) to atomic cluster (Pt ) and nanoparticle (Pt ) on the SiO surface were well modulated. We demonstrated the importance of dual-site synergy for optimizing the activity of single-atom catalysts.

We report here the first example of a copper-catalyzed transformation involving nitro allyl derivatives. This borylation reaction, which exploits the high versatility of the aforementioned precursor, tolerates a variety of functional groups and allows practical, scalable, and highly straightforward access to diversely substituted allylboronic esters in high yields. The method was also extended to allyl sulfones, which provides a very complementary approach, offering additional structural diversity along with improved stereoselectivities.

Polyketide synthases (PKSs) are multidomain enzymatic assembly lines that biosynthesize a wide selection of bioactive natural products from simple building blocks. In contrast to their -acyltransferase (AT) counterparts, -AT PKSs rely on stand-alone ATs to load extender units onto acyl carrier protein (ACP) domains embedded in the core PKS machinery. -AT PKS gene clusters also encode stand-alone acyl hydrolases (AHs), which are predicted to share the overall fold of ATs but function like type II thioesterases (TEs), hydrolyzing aberrant acyl chains from ACP domains to promote biosynthetic efficiency.

Objective: In England, through the Genomic Medicine Service Alliances (GMSAs), a national transformation project aims to embed robust pathways to deliver universal Lynch syndrome (LS) testing for patients with colorectal and endometrial cancers. Prior to commencement of the project, there was evidence of variation and low testing levels in eligible patients which is consistent with other health systems; however, we believe this is amenable to systematic improvement with responsibility for testing delivery by local cancer teams supported by regional infrastructure.

Methods And Analysis: A project team and national oversight group was formed in May 2021 with membership including 21×cancer alliances, 7×GMSAs, charities and other stakeholders who agreed key performance indicators.
