Introduction: In recent years, the role of inflammation in the pathogenesis of Bipolar Disorder (BD) has been studied thoroughly. Urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR) is one of the molecules, whose concentration is of predictive value with regards to an ongoing inflammation and tissue regeneration, and it is hypothesized that it may also be altered in Bipolar Disorder. In this study, it is aimed to compare the levels of serum soluble uPAR during the manic, depressive and euthymic states of cases diagnosed with bipolar disorder, with healthy individuals.

Objective: Individuals with bipolar disorder (BD) frequently suffer from cardiovascular disease (CVD), and it is a leading cause of mortality. Clinicians use routine laboratory tests, including a lipid profile, to predict cardiovascular risk. In addition, a particular lipid ratio, the atherogenic index of plasma (AIP), is a sensitive, new parameter that can be used to assess highrisk groups.

Conventional 24-h pH monitoring is the gold standard for the diagnosis of non-erosive, non-acidic gastro-esophageal reflux disease. Multichannel Intraluminal Impedance (MII) analysis markedly improves diagnostic accuracy of non-erosive, non-acidic gastro-esophageal reflux disease. However, MII catheters are more expensive than standard catheters.

Objectives: To determine the feasibility of evaluating the subarachnoid space by measuring two novel sonographic parameters in axial section using transabdominal ultrasound, in addition to the parameters previously defined in coronal section, and to construct a normal range for the subarachnoid space width in singleton healthy fetuses.
Methods: Healthy pregnant women between 20 and 29 weeks were scanned using transabdominal ultrasound. Four variables were measured for the evaluation of subarachnoid space width; sinocortical width and anterior craniocortical width in coronal plane, and lateral and posterior craniocortical width in axial plane.

Gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding cases in whom source cannot be identified after conventional upper and lower GI endoscopy are defined as potential small bowel bleeding. We aimed to search for lesions in the reach of conventional endoscopy in patients to whom video capsule endoscopy (VCE) had been applied for potential small bowel bleeding. 114 patients who had VCE evaluation for potential small bowel bleeding between January 2009 and August 2015 were retrospectively evaluated.

Tethered spinal cord is mostly caused by myelomeningocele and lipomyelomeningocele, while dermal sinus tract, diastematomyelia, lipoma, tumor, thickened/tight filum terminale, spinal trauma, and spinal surgery are among the other causes. Prenatal diagnosis of tethered cord has been reported, and it is usually associated with neural tube defects. We present an atypical presentation of a tethered spinal cord, which was associated with a sacrococcygeal teratoma and was diagnosed in the 23rd week of pregnancy by ultrasonography.
