Purpose: (1) Report concomitant cartilage and meniscal injury at the time of anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR), (2) evaluate the risk of aseptic revision ACLR during follow-up, and (3) evaluate the risk of aseptic ipsilateral reoperation during follow-up.
Methods: Using a United States integrated healthcare system's ACLR registry, patients who underwent primary isolated ACLR were identified (2010-2018). Multivariable Cox proportional-hazards regression was used to evaluate the risk of aseptic revision, with a secondary outcome evaluating ipsilateral aseptic reoperation.

Secondary hypogammaglobulinemia (SHG) is characterized by reduced immunoglobulin levels due to acquired causes of decreased antibody production or increased antibody loss. Clarification regarding whether the hypogammaglobulinemia is secondary or primary is important because this has implications for evaluation and management. Prior receipt of immunosuppressive medications and/or presence of conditions associated with SHG development, including protein loss syndromes, are histories that raise suspicion for SHG.

The Converge IDE Trial demonstrated improved patient outcomes in a challenging persistent and long-standing persistent atrial fibrillation population using a heart team hybrid approach with epicardial and endocardial staged ablations. Surgeons encounter unique circumstances with the surgical epicardial stage of the Convergent procedure which includes unfamiliarity with left atrial posterior anatomy, endoscopic/thoracoscopic visualization, minimally invasive left atrial appendage management, and expanded indications for the procedure. Overcoming these unique challenges is key to the adoption of the Convergent procedure as a critical off-pump approach that should be part of the surgical armamentarium in the treatment of atrial fibrillation.

Background: Galectin-3 (Gal-3) is a proinflammatory and profibrotic protein especially overexpressed after Acute Kidney Injury (AKI). The early renal prognostic value of Gal-3 after AKI in critically ill patients remains unexplored. The objective was to evaluate the prognostic value of plasma level of Gal-3 for Major Adverse Kidney Events (MAKE) and mortality 30 days after ICU admission across AKI stages.

Background: No studies have assessed the clinical significance of medication reconciliation in surgical patients using high-risk extended-release/long-acting (ER/LA) opioid medications.
Objectives: We assessed differences in the perioperative use of opioid analgesics in patients who underwent medication reconciliation upon hospital admission compared to patients who did not and identified predictors of perioperative use of opioids.
Methods: Retrospective observational quasi-experimental study including adult non-cancer patients who underwent elective surgery at UCSF Medical Center in the period January 2017 through December 2019 and received at least one opioid analgesic during surgical hospitalization.

Purpose: CALGB 80405 compared the combination of first-line chemotherapy with cetuximab or bevacizumab in the treatment of advanced or metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). Although similar clinical outcomes were observed in the cetuximab-chemotherapy group and the bevacizumab-chemotherapy group, biomarkers could identify patients deriving more benefit from either biologic agent.
Patients And Methods: In this exploratory analysis, the Angiome, a panel of 24 soluble protein biomarkers were measured in baseline plasma samples in CALGB 80405.

Objective: To describe the clinical characteristics, treatments, longitudinal disease course, and health care utilization in adults with PPP across the US.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This retrospective, longitudinal case series from 20 academic dermatology practices in the US included a consecutive sample of 197 adults who met the European Rare and Severe Psoriasis Expert Network consensus definition for PPP between January 1, 2007, and December 31, 2018.

Objective: To describe the clinical characteristics, treatments, longitudinal disease course, and disease-specific health care utilization among patients with GPP across the United States.
Design, Setting, And Participants: A retrospective longitudinal case series involving 95 adults who met the European Rare and Severe Psoriasis Expert Network consensus definition for GPP and were treated at 20 US academic dermatology practices between January 1, 2007, and December 31, 2018.

One of the six guiding principles of the EMS Agenda 2050 is to foster a socially equitable care delivery system. A specific recommendation within this principle is that "local EMS leadership, educators and clinicians [should] reflect the diversity of their communities." Research has shown that women comprise a minority of emergency medicine services (EMS) field clinicians.

Methods: Mutations were determined using an Ion Torrent sequencing panel. 1p/19q co-deletion and promoter methylation were determined by Affymetrix OncoScan and Illumina 450K arrays.

Purpose: For men with localized prostate cancer, NRG Oncology/Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) 9408 demonstrated that adding short-term androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) to radiation therapy (RT) improved the primary endpoint of overall survival (OS) and improved disease-specific mortality (DSM), biochemical failure (BF), local progression, and freedom from distant metastases (DM). This study was performed to determine whether the short-term ADT continued to improve OS, DSM, BF, and freedom from DM with longer follow-up.
Methods And Materials: From 1994 to 2001, NRG/RTOG 9408 randomized 2028 men from 212 North American institutions with T1b-T2b, N0 prostate adenocarcinoma and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) ≤20ng/mL to RT alone or RT plus short-term ADT.

Objective: The 2020 Global Vascular Guidelines aim at improving decision making in Chronic Limb-Threatening Ischemia (CLTI) by providing a framework for evidence-based revascularization. Herein, the Global Limb Anatomic Staging System (GLASS) serves to estimate the chance of success and patency of arterial pathway revascularization based on the extent and distribution of the atherosclerotic lesions. We report the preliminary feasibility results and observer variability of the GLASS.

Background: The surgical outcomes of individual patient with ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) can vary depending on various patient-related factors. Japanese Orthopaedic Association Cervical Myelopathy Evaluation Questionnaire (JOACMEQ) is a well-developed tool for outcome measurement and considers both disease-specific and general health aspects. This study aimed to investigate the reliability, validity, and responsiveness of the JOACMEQ in patients with OPLL in mainland China and to compare post-operative outcomes of OPLL patients between mainland China and Japan.

Introduction: Medial epicondyle fracture displacement is notoriously difficult to determine on conventional radiography, and follow-up computed tomography (CT) is often obtained to measure precise displacement. Another option for fracture characterization is digital tomosynthesis (DT), a technology providing high in-plane resolution of bony anatomy by acquiring multiple low-dose images in a linear arc. Advantages of DT include lower radiation exposure and lower cost than CT, rapid image acquisition, and a similar patient experience to conventional radiography.
