Background: ABCA1‐mediated cholesterol transport is a central feature in many lipid‐ dependent diseases including APOE4‐associated Alzheimer’s disease and atherosclerosis‐CVD. ABCA1 upregulation of RNA transcription by nuclear factors (LXR, RXR) have been associated with liver side‐effects because of the common promotor element for ABCA1 and Fatty Acid Synthase. The ABCA1 agonist CS6253, derived from the C‐terminal of apoE was designed to stabilize and enhance ABCA1 function, thereby providing a safe alternative to transcriptional upregulation.

Background Aims: In clinical practice, the reduction of porto-caval pressure gradient (PCPG) following trans-jugular intra-hepatic porto-systemic shunt (TIPS) does not always meet the recommendation of current guidance. We evaluated the impact of different degrees of PCPG reduction, measured at the end of an elective TIPS, on ascites control, recurrence of portal hypertension-related bleeding (PHRB) and survival.

Background: In light of the new nomenclature of steatotic liver disease (SLD), we aimed to enhance the existing knowledge on the epidemiology and clinical outcomes of metabolic and alcohol related/associated liver disease (MetALD).

Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis were performed in Medline/PubMed, Embase, Scopus and Cochrane databases to evaluate the prevalence and outcomes of MetALD within the SLD population and to compare the characteristics between MetALD patients and those with metabolic dysfunction associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and alcohol-related liver disease (ALD). Nineteen studies from nine countries that evaluated 4,543,341 adult participants with SLD were included.

By contrast, haemogenic potential is well established for extra-embryonic mesoderm and intra-embryonic lateral plate mesoderm, which do not express Pax3. Management can often be suboptimal in overburdened health-care systems with considerable socioeconomic and geographical disparity existing, which was exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the need for sustainable care pathways to be delivered remotely.
