Objective: Metabolic dysfunction associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) is over-represented in people with HIV (PWH). Maraviroc (MVC) and/or metformin (MET) may reduce MAFLD by influencing inflammatory pathways and fatty acid metabolism.

Purpose: Na MRI can be used to quantify in-vivo tissue sodium concentration (TSC), but the inherently low Na signal leads to long scan times and/or noisy or low-resolution images. Reconstruction algorithms such as compressed sensing (CS) have been proposed to mitigate low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR); although, these can result in unnatural images, suboptimal denoising and long processing times. Recently, machine learning has been increasingly used to denoise H MRI acquisitions; however, this approach typically requires large volumes of high-quality training data, which is not readily available for Na MRI.

A common change in tumour cell glycosylation is an increase in α2,6 sialylation of N-glycans, a modification driven by the sialyltransferase ST6GAL1. ST6GAL1 is overexpressed in numerous cancer types, and sialylated glycans are fundamental for tumour growth, metastasis, immune evasion, and drug resistance, but the role of ST6GAL1 in prostate cancer is poorly understood.

Purpose: To investigate the impact of Prostate Imaging Quality (PI-QUAL) scores on the diagnostic performance of multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) in a targeted biopsy cohort.
Patients And Methods: 300 patients who underwent both mpMRI and biopsy were included. PI-QUAL scores were retrospectively assigned by two radiologists in consensus and were correlated to pre-biopsy PI-RADS scores and biopsy outcomes.

Objectives: To quantify reader agreement for the British Society of Thoracic Imaging (BSTI) diagnostic and severity classification for COVID-19 on chest radiographs (CXR), in particular agreement for an indeterminate CXR that could instigate CT imaging, from single and paired images.
Methods: Twenty readers (four groups of five individuals)-consultant chest (CCR), general consultant (GCR), and specialist registrar (RSR) radiologists, and infectious diseases clinicians (IDR)-assigned BSTI categories and severity in addition to modified Covid-Radiographic Assessment of Lung Edema Score (Covid-RALES), to 305 CXRs (129 paired; 2 time points) from 176 guideline-defined COVID-19 patients. Percentage agreement with a consensus of two chest radiologists was calculated for (1) categorisation to those needing CT (indeterminate) versus those that did not (classic/probable, non-COVID-19); (2) severity; and (3) severity change on paired CXRs using the two scoring systems.

Aim: To investigate the level of statistical support available to UK radiology trainees, and to gather opinions regarding how support may affect their current and future research aspirations.
Materials And Methods: An online survey was developed, piloted, and distributed to radiology trainees via the UK Radiology Academic Network for Trainees and training programme directors. Research experience, research aspirations, available and desired statistical support, and attitudes to statistics were surveyed and responses were collated.

The Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Diagnostic Test Accuracy (DTA) provides guidance on important aspects of conducting a test accuracy systematic review. In this paper we present TOMAS-R (Template of Multiplicity and Analysis in Systematic Reviews), a structured template to use in conjunction with current Cochrane DTA guidance, to help identify complexities in the review question and to assist planning of data extraction and analysis when clinically important variation and multiplicity is present. Examples of clinically important variation and multiplicity could include differences in participants, index tests and test methods, target conditions and reference standards used to define them, study design and methodological quality.

Background: There is a lack of consensus related to the collection of standardized data for individuals with vitiligo enrolled in clinical trials and registries as well as those seen in clinical practice which causes difficulty in accurately interpreting, comparing, and pooling of data. Several years ago, efforts to initiate work on developing core outcome sets were performed and a consensus was reached in 2015 on the first core domain set for vitiligo clinical trials.
Methods/design: This project aims to further develop a core outcome set for vitiligo clinical trials as well as create internationally agreed-upon core outcome sets for registries and clinical practice.
Introduction: Chronic liver disease is a growing cause of morbidity and mortality in the UK. Acute presentation with advanced disease is common and prioritisation of resources to those at highest risk at earlier disease stages is essential to improving patient outcomes. Existing prognostic tools are of limited accuracy and to date no imaging-based tools are used in clinical practice, despite multiple anatomical imaging features that worsen with disease severity.

Objectives: Systematic review of CT measurements to predict the success or failure of subsequent ventral hernia repair has found limited data available in the indexed literature. To rectify this, we investigated multiple preoperative CT metrics to identify if any were associated with postoperative reherniation.
Methods: Following ethical permission, we identified patients who had undergone ventral hernia repair and had preoperative CT scanning available.

Background: Viral load (VL) testing in people living with HIV (PLHIV) helps to monitor antiretroviral therapy (ART). VL is still largely tested using central laboratory-based platforms, which have long test turnaround times and involve sophisticated equipment. VL tests with point-of-care (POC) platforms capable of being used near the patient are potentially easy to use, give quick results, are cost-effective, and could replace central or reference VL testing platforms.

Background: The standard method of diagnosing HIV in infants and children less than 18 months is with a nucleic acid amplification test reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction test (NAT RT-PCR) detecting viral ribonucleic acid (RNA). Laboratory testing using the RT-PCR platform for HIV infection is limited by poor access, logistical support, and delays in relaying test results and initiating therapy in low-resource settings. The use of rapid diagnostic tests at or near the point-of-care (POC) can increase access to early diagnosis of HIV infection in infants and children less than 18 months of age and timely initiation of antiretroviral therapy (ART).

Reducing organ motion during these procedures is crucial so that tumours can be accurately targeted and treatment delivered within a small margin, limiting potential damage to adjacent structures. As ventilation is the main cause of motion, there has been a shift from conventional ventilation towards the use of in-circuit high-frequency jet ventilation techniques for these procedures.
