Background: Many patients diagnosed with gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) have persistent symptoms despite proton pump inhibitor (PPI) therapy.

Aims: The aim of this consensus is to provide evidence-based statements to guide clinicians caring for patients with refractory reflux-like symptoms (rRLS) or refractory GERD.

Methods: This consensus was developed by the International Working Group for the Classification of Oesophagitis.

Perceptions of Resilience Among Nurses: A Qualitative Study Based on the Society-To-Cells Framework.

Aim(s): To explore the perceptions of resilience among nurses using the Society-to-Cells Resilience Theory and examine how multilevel factors influence their ability to maintain resilience in high-stress environments.

Design: A qualitative study using semi-structured interviews.

Methods: Sixteen registered nurses from various healthcare settings in the Asir region, Saudi Arabia, participated in face-to-face interviews conducted from February to April 2024.

A new framework has been investigated and found to meet the criteria of the probability function. By significantly improving the functional shape and having the ability to model the most likely form of the hazard rate function, this novel modification has increased the adaptability of typical model.

Introduction Respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among preterm infants, necessitating effective treatment strategies. This study compared the efficacy of Beractant (SURVANTA®) to Poractant alfa (CUROSURF®) in treating RDS in preterm infants admitted to Tawam Hospital in the UAE. Methodology This retrospective study included preterm infants from 23+0 to 36+6 weeks of gestation with a diagnosis of RDS and treatment by Beractant or Poractant alfa within 48 hours of life between January 2020 and March 2023.

Methods: A total of 122 samples were collected, with demographic data including age, hot beverage consumption, cigarette smoking and other tobacco practice using pre-designed questionnaires. Buccal cells were collected, stained, and screened for micronuclei (MN) under a microscope and two evaluators independently assessed all the slides.

Background: Stress hyperglycaemia ratio (SHR) has been reported to be independently and significantly associated with various adverse cardiovascular events as well as mortality. White matter lipidome alterations in the schizophrenia brain.

Numerous brain imaging studies have reported white matter alterations in schizophrenia, but the lipidome analysis of the corresponding tissue remains incomplete. In this study, we investigated the lipidome composition of six subcortical white matter regions corresponding to major axonal tracks in both control subjects and schizophrenia patients. All six regions exhibited a consistent pattern of quantitative lipidome alterations in schizophrenia, involving myelin-forming and mitochondria associated lipid classes.

Transrectal oocyte retrieval for fertility preservation in virginal women.

Research Question: How safe and effective is transrectal oocyte retrieval (TROR) for fertility preservation in nulliparous virginal women?

Design: This was a retrospective single-centre study of 105 nulliparous women from five satellite centres of Fakih IVF, UAE, who underwent TROR for oocyte cryopreservation. Extensive bowel preparation and rectal cleansing was performed prior to oocyte retrieval. Patient characteristics, stimulation protocol, and procedure outcome and safety data were collected.
