Bone resorption around the proximal portion of the stem of a radial head prosthesis is a frequent phenomenon. In the vast majority of cases it is not correlated with to be without clinical manifestations. This radiographic sign, refers to the stress shielding effect has been more described in total hip replacement surgery.

Introduction: The use of elbow arthroscopy is becoming increasingly common in orthopaedic practice; nevertheless, it is still considered a difficult procedure with a long learning curve. The aim of the study is to evaluate the role of a new elbow Sawbone-Based Arthroscopy Module (e-SBAM) in the training of elbow surgeons.
Methods: Fourteen surgeons were classified as "Expert" (: 7; more than 10 years of experience in arthroscopic surgery) and "Not-expert" surgeons (: 7; less than 10 years of experience).

Prevalence of scapular dyskinesis varies across records, with overhead athletes being more frequently affected than non-overhead athletes A number of methods have been described to evaluate scapular kinematics and scapular dyskinesis. The "yes/no" and the "4-type" classification systems are widely accepted and diffusely used among orthopaedics and physical therapists. The inter-rater reliability for both the "yes/no" and the "4-type" classification systems may be different.

Background: Juvenile hip osteoarthritis is often the end result of congenital conditions or acquired hip ailments occurred during the paediatric age. This study evaluated the middle term results of total hip arthroplasty for end-stage juvenile hip osteoarthritis.
Materials And Methods: This is a retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data on a cohort of 10 consecutive patients (12 hips), aged between 14 and 20 at operation, who underwent cementless total hip arthroplasty for end-stage juvenile secondary hip osteoarthritis in two orthopaedic tertiary referral centres between 2009 and 2018.

Purpose: Arthroscopic fixation of radial head radial head fractures is an appealing alternative to open reduction and internal fixation, which presents the advantage of minimal surgical trauma. The aim of this study was to evaluate if modifications to the standard anteromedial (AM) and anterolateral (AL) portals could allow screw placement for radial head fracture osteosynthesis closer to the plane of the radial head articular surface.
Methods: Eight fresh-frozen specimens were prepared to mimic arthroscopic setting.

Purpose: The Oxford Shoulder Instability Score (OSIS) is self-reported outcome measurement developed to evaluate shoulder instability taking into account also adaptive strategies. Valid, reliable, reproducible, and user-friendly translations of outcome measure instruments are needed to allow comparisons of international study results.
Methods: The Italian translation and cultural adaptation of the OSIS were completed using a "translation-back translation" method and the final version was administered to a sample of 25 consecutive Italian-speaking patients.

Background: This study investigated whether forearm movements change the relative position of the posterior interosseous nerve (PIN) with respect to the midline of the radial head (Rh) under direct arthroscopic observation.
Methods: The PIN was identified in 10 fresh frozen cadaveric specimens dissected under arthroscopy. The forearm was moved first in full pronation and then in full supination, and the displacement of the PIN from medial to lateral with respect to the midline of the Rh was recorded.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to describe a new surgical procedure to plicate the anterior bundle medial collateral ligament (aMCL) into its humeral footprint using a suture anchor, and to present the results of a preliminary clinical series.
Methods: Eight patients with posttraumatic medial elbow pain and signs of medial elbow instability underwent aMCL plication with suture anchors and decompression of ulnar nerve. Arthroscopic evaluation permitted to define signs of minor medial elbow instability; 70°-scope was used to document from an intra-articular point of view of the aMCL status.

Purpose: Arthroscopic fixation of radial head fractures is an alternative to open reduction and internal fixation; the latter, however, presents the advantage of minimal soft-tissue damage. The exposure of the radial head for adequate screw placement can be technically challenging. The aim of this study was to evaluate the inter-observer agreement on the effective contact arc in the axial plane of the radial head of three different elbow arthroscopy portals.

The aim of this study was to report the rate of survivorship in patients with osteonecrosis of the femoral head treated with core decompression in association with mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) implantation, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection, and synthetic bone graft. We evaluated 24 hips in 16 patients, according to Ficat classification, treated by core decompression, injection of PRP and MSCs, and backfilling of the core tract with synthetic bone graft. Survivorship was estimated using Kaplan-Meier curves.

Introduction: Revision knee arthroplasty is increasing, and in that case, bone loss management is still a challenging problem. In the last years, the body of literature and interest surrounding porous metal cones has grown, but few systematic evaluations of the existing evidence have been performed. The aim of our systematic review is to collect and critically analyze the available evidence about metal cones in revision knee arthroplasty especially focusing our attention on indications, results, complications, and infection rate of these promising orthopaedic devices.

Purpose: Arthroscopic reduction and internal fixation for coronoid process fractures has been proposed to overcome limitations of open approaches. Currently, arthroscopy is most frequently used to assist insertion of a retrograde guide wire for a retrograde cannulated screw. The present anatomical study presents an innovative arthroscopic technique to introduce an antegrade guide wire from an accessory anteromedial portal and evaluates its safety and reproducibility.

Background: Results on the effectiveness of PRP supplementation in arthroscopic rotator cuff repair are conflicting, making it difficult to draw definitive conclusions.
Methods: This was a prospective, randomized, and double-blind study with two groups of 20 patients each (PRP group and control group). Degenerative supraspinatus full-thickness tears grade C2-C3 were subjected to arthroscopic repair; PRP supplementation was given to patients in the PRP group.

Background: Several diseases may lead to advanced hip disease and cause disabling symptoms in adolescents. In literature there is no consensus which is the optimal surgical treatment for young adults with end-stage osteoarthritis. The purpose of this study was to assess the clinical and radiological outcomes of uncemented total hip arthroplasty for the treatment of end-stage hip arthritis in patients younger than 20 years at a minimum follow-up of ten years.

Purpose: Deformities of the forearm and shortening of the ulna occur in 30 % of patients with hereditary multiple exostoses (HME), leading to radial head dislocation and loss of movement. Several surgical techniques have been described for treatment, and the aim of our study was to present clinical and radiographic results at skeletal maturity in 15 children that underwent the surgical procedure of ulnar lengthening with external fixators.
Methods: We evaluated 15 patients with ulnar shortening and radial head dislocation that underwent external fixation procedures.
