To review and evaluate multiple preoperative and postoperative sagittal parameters and their association with the risk of developing proximal junctional kyphosis (PJK) in patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) who undergo correction surgery. A systematic search was performed in December 2022 in PubMed, Embase and the Cochrane Library to retrieve all the studies relevant to our research. After the study selection and data extraction following PRISMA guidelines, RevMan 5.

Introduction: Growing adoption of endoscopic procedures in clinical practice has gradually increase the detection rate of gastric polypoid lesions.
Aim: To identify the epidemiologic characteristics of gastric polyps as well as changes of these parameters during a 15-year period.
Material And Methods: We reviewed all the upper endoscopies archived in our database reporting a polypoid lesion from 2003 to 2018.

From 2019 (pre-COVID-19) to 2022 (COVID-19 years), three tertiary Greek hospitals monitored MDRO bloodstream infection (BSI) and hospital acquisition relying on laboratory data. Surveillance covered carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE), Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CRPA), vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE), and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), in intensive care units (ICUs) and non-ICUs. Non-ICUs experienced significant increases in CRE, CRAB and VRE during the pandemic.

This was a post hoc analysis of the SAVE clinical trial investigating anakinra treatment, guided by suPAR (soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor) levels ≥6 ng/mL, for the prevention of severe respiratory failure in hospitalized patients with COVID-19 pneumonia. Baseline HBP plasma levels were measured in 534 patients by fluorescence dry quantitative immunoassay using the Jet-iStar 800 analyzer.

A comprehensive and structured imaging approach in the evaluation of the systemic right ventricle (sRV) in patients with complete transposition of the great arteries (TGA) after atrial switch procedure and congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries (ccTGA) is a key for their optimal lifelong surveillance. Despite the improvements in cardiovascular imaging of adults with congenital heart disease (ACHD), the imaging of sRV remains an ongoing challenge due to its complex morphology and the difficulty in applying the existing knowledge for the systemic left ventricle. While cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) is considered the gold standard imaging method, echocardiographic evaluation is primarily preferred in everyday clinical setting.

To investigate whether the incidence of triggers, prodromal symptoms, hypersensitivity symptoms accompanying headache and responses to triptans were modified during a continuous 9-month fremanezumab therapy for migraine prophylaxis. We studied 63 patients with high-frequency episodic migraine (HFEM). Enrolled patients received fremanezumab for nine consecutive months before defining the response rates and being stratified into treatment responders (≥50-74% reduction in monthly headache days (MHDs)), super responders (≥75%), partial non-responders (<50%) and super non-responders (<30%).

Study Design: Creating and psychometric testing of a new QoL Questionnaire about Physiotherapeutic Specific Exercises of Scoliosis (Questionnaire of Physiotherapeutic Specific Exercises of Scoliosis-QPSSE).
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to create a reliable and valid questionnaire for patients suffering from mild and moderate adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) who have been treated with Physiotherapeutic Specific Exercises of Scoliosis (PSSE) in order to evaluate their quality of life.
Materials And Methods: The developed questionnaire was based on a thorough literature review as well as on authors' experience.

Background: Menarche, as an important parameter in the assessment of scoliosis progression in girls, is proven to be dependent on geographical latitude. The aim of this study was to determine whether the age of menarche differs in scoliotic and non-scoliotic Balkan girls and the relationship between menarche and the laterality of scoliotic curves.
Participants And Methods: This is a retrospective study with three groups: scoliotic, non-scoliotic, and control.

With the aging of congenital heart disease (CHD) patients, the burden of arrhythmias is expanding. Atrial arrhythmias, especially intra-atrial reentrant tachycardia and atrial fibrillation, are the most prevalent forms of arrhythmia. Managing comorbidities, such as obesity, using pharmacotherapy, including antiarrhythmics and anticoagulants, and ablation therapy has become the cornerstone of arrhythmia management.

The aim of this report is to evaluate the segmental rib index (RI) from the T1 to T12 spinal levels in mild and moderate idiopathic scoliosis (IS) curves of thoracic, thoracolumbar and lumbar type by gender. The relationship of segmental RI to the frontal plane radiological deformity presented as the Cobb angle and to the posterior truncal surface deformity presented as the scoliometric readings of Angle of Trunk Rotation (ATR) in these patients is also assessed. Any statistically significant relationship between these parameters would be very important for biomechanical relations in rib cage (RC) deformity presented as rib hump deformity (RHD) and deformity in the spine, and would thus provide valuable information about scoliogeny.

Objective: To determine the prevalence of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS), progression risk, and quality of life in students aged from 10 to 18 years.
Patients And Method: Cross-sectional descriptive study in students 10 - 18 years old from 5 communes in Santiago, Chile, between 2015-2016. Adam's Test was performed and the angle trunk rotation (ATR) at the thoracic, thoracolumbar, and lumbar levels were measured with a scoliometer.

Arterial hypertension is a major cause of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality and the most common cause of comorbidity in heart failure (HF) with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). As an adjunct to medication, healthy lifestyle modifications with emphasis on regular exercise are strongly recommended by both the hypertension and the HF guidelines of the European Society of Cardiology. Several long-term studies have shown that exercise is associated with a reduction in all-cause mortality, a favorable cardiac and metabolic risk profile, mental health, and other non-cardiovascular benefits, as well as an improvement in overall quality of life.

Tubulointerstitial nephritis with uveitis syndrome is a rare, immune-mediated entity, characterized by oculo-renal inflammation. Diagnosis requires the exclusion of all other causes of tubulointerstitial nephritis (TIN). We present 6 patients with clinical, laboratory, and renal biopsy findings denotative of tubulointerstitial nephritis with uveitis syndrome.

Objective: this post hoc analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy of fremanezumab in difficult-to-treat chronic migraine (CM) patients with and without psychiatric comorbidities (PCs), mainly anxiety and/or depression.
Methods: We assessed data from CM patients with and without PCs who failed at least 3 preventives and eventually received at least 3 consecutive monthly doses of fremanezumab 225 mg. Outcomes included the crude response (≥50% reduction in monthly headache days (MHDs)) rates to fremanezumab from the baseline to the last clinical follow-up.

Objective: To define, in a real-world population of patients with high-frequency episodic (HFEM) or chronic migraine (CM), the predictive role of socio-demographic or phenotypic profiling of responders to fremanezumab.
Patients And Methods: Two-hundred and four adult fremanezumab-treated patients with either HFEM or CM, who failed to at least three preventive treatments, provided data at baseline on several individual socio-demographic and phenotypic variables. These variables were analyzed for their ability to independently predict the response (50-74% response rates) or super-response (≥ 75% response rates) to fremanezumab.
