Difficult airway management in oromaxillofacial tumor surgery poses significant challenges for anesthesiologists. We present two case reports of patients with mandibular malignant tumors and maxillary osteosarcoma who underwent surgery under general anesthesia. Preoperative assessment revealed a mass involving the right mandible, completely covering the inside of the mouth and invading the floor of the mouth in the first case, and a mass in the left maxilla extending to the zygomatic arch and orbital floor in the second case.

Purpose: To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of different abbreviated magnetic resonance imaging (AMRI) protocols consisting of dynamic enhanced + T2-weighted imaging (T2W) and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) + T2W for the detection and characterization of liver metastases in a patient group with known colorectal cancer.
Material And Methods: A total of 197 hepatic lesions were retrospectively analyzed across 3 different MRI sets: AMRI-1 (dynamic enhanced + T2W), AMRI-2 (DWI + T2W), and a standard MRI protocol. The patient cohort included 100 individuals (63 males, 37 females) with a mean age of 62.

Novel therapeutic strategies are essential for enhancing efficacy and accelerating the treatment of diabetes mellitus. This investigation focused on incorporating empagliflozin into a composite of polylactic acid and polycaprolactone, resulting in the fabrication of drug-loaded fibrous patches (DFPs) for transdermal application, both by electrospinning (ES) and by pressurized gyration (PG). Scanning electron microscopy results revealed that DFPs generated through the PG method exhibited smaller diameters and a larger surface area than ES.

This research explored the effects of dalapon exposure on the expression of various genes, including , , , , , , , , , , , , , , and , along with the activities of related antioxidant enzymes (AEs), such as CAT, SOD, GPX, G6PD, GST, and GR in zebrafish. Kidney and liver tissues were analyzed to assess oxidative stress levels. Results indicated that both the concentration of dalapon (25 and 50 ppm) and the duration of exposure had a significant effect on AE activities and gene expression.

Today, healthcare services in gynaecology and obstetrics aim for women to be independent in care and to provide self-management. At this point, the nurse's role as an educator in gynaecology and obstetrics has gained importance, and the patient education process should be carried out in line with the needs and characteristics of women. Therefore, using new technologies in the planning and implementation of patient education will increase the quality of education by providing practical education in a systematic, fast, and easy way.

BACKGROUND The main concern regarding lung-protective ventilation strategies during neurosurgery is the reduction in venous return and increase in cerebral blood flow when using high positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP). This study aimed to evaluate and compare the changes in regional cerebral oxygen saturations (rSO2) during the use of 5 cmH₂O and 10 cmH₂O PEEP in patients undergoing craniotomy for tumor resection. MATERIAL AND METHODS The study was designed as a prospective, single-blind randomized controlled study.

Human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)-derived spermatogonial stem cells (hSSCs) could serve as an autologous germ cell source for MFI in patients with an insufficient sperm yield for assisted reproductive technology (ART). The endocannabinoid system (ECS) has been implicated to play a role in mouse embryonic stem cells (mESCs) and the human testicular environment.

Traumatic life experiences such as earthquakes are impactful on individuals' mental health and positive psychological characteristics are key assets for the preservation of mental health after stressful situations. Strength-based parenting and optimism are considered among those strengths to combat psychological problems including depression. The current study aimed to examine the longitudinal mediating effects of optimism between strength-based parenting and depression (model 1) and post-traumatic growth (model 2).

Background: Cyclophosphamide (CYC) is an inactive alkylating agent that transforms the alkyl radicals into other molecules and is used in combination with systemic corticosteroids in the treatment of many childhood rheumatic diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV). In recent years, rituximab (RTX), a B-cell-targeting anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody, has emerged as a new alternative treatment modality over CYC for induction therapy of childhood-onset rheumatic diseases. Clinicians adopt different practices for using CYC particularly in relation to indications, posology, pre-treatment laboratory work-up, post-treatment follow-up, and screening pre- and post-treatment vaccination status.

Background: This study addresses a gap in the literature by examining how health literacy mediates the relationship between trust in public health authorities and distrust in health systems, particularly in the Turkish context. While previous studies have examined trust and health literacy separately, few have examined trust in health systems regarding health literacy and trust in public health authorities. Therefore, the primary purpose of this study is to determine the mediating role of health literacy in the relationship between trust in public health authorities and distrust in the health system.

Epicardial adipose tissue is associated with the development of cardiovascular disease and its increase is positively correlated with blood pressure elevation in hypertensive individuals. In the literature, being physically active has been shown to be effective in the treatment of hypertension and reduction of epicardial adipose tissue thickness. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between epicardial adipose tissue thickness and sedentary time, physical activity level and physical performance in patients with hypertension.

In advanced-stage classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL), the prognosis has improved due to combination chemotherapy and PET/CT-guided treatment modification, resulting in a decreased prognostic capacity of IPS models. A novel model, A-HIPI, was found to be superior to IPS in predicting prognosis. In this study, we aimed to validate the A-HIPI model among Turkish cHL patients and compare its performance with other clinical prediction models.
