Understanding regional variations and specific risk factors associated with CVT is crucial, especially in low-resource settings like Somalia, where epidemiological data is limited and healthcare resources are scarce.

Background: Severe burns induce volume shifts via capillary leaks, eventually requiring massive fluid resuscitation and promoting tissue edema. Albumin may help to mitigate the edema, thereby improving perfusion. This study shows that sublingual microcirculation measurements can quantify both tissue perfusion and edema.

Nebulized aminoglycosides for ventilator-associated pneumonia: Methodological considerations and lessons from experimental studies.

Aminoglycosides are concentration-dependent antibiotics exerting a bactericidal effect when concentrations at the site of infection are equal to or greater than 5 times the minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC). When administered intravenously, they exhibit poor lung penetration and high systemic renal and ototoxicity, imposing to restrict their administration to 5 days. Humic acid attenuates cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity in rats.

Cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity, a major limitation of this chemotherapeutic agent, involves oxidative stress, inflammation, and apoptosis. This study investigated the potential renoprotective effects of humic acid in a rat model of cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity. Forty-two male Wistar rats were assigned to six groups: control, humic acid, cisplatin, cisplatin + humic acid 10 mg/kg, cisplatin + humic acid 20 mg/kg, and cisplatin + humic acid 40 mg/kg.

Objective: This study aims to examine color properties of repairs made with various composites on restorations produced through additive-manufactured resin composites (AM-RC) and zirconia (AM-Z) or subtractive manufacturing (SM) after coffee thermocycling (CTC).

Materials And Methods: Disk-shaped specimens (Ø10 × 2 mm; N = 120) were fabricated using six different material groups: additively manufactured resin composite (AM-RC) materials (Crowntec [C], NextDent [ND]), additively manufactured zirconia (AM-Z) materials (Lithoz [LI], INNI-Cera [IN]), and subtractively manufactured (SM) materials (CEREC Tessera [ALD], Vita Enamic [EN]).
