Rhinitis is a common comorbidity in patients with asthma. However, the frequency of underreported rhinitis in asthma is not known. In this study, we aimed to assess the characteristics of patients with self-reported asthma and no self-reported rhinitis, as well as the extent of the underreporting of rhinitis.

Preventive clipping versus coiling in unruptured intracranial aneurysms: A comprehensive meta-analysis and systematic review to explore safety and efficacy.

Background: Surgical clipping and endovascular coiling are both effective in preventing aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, but the choice between these interventions remains controversial, leading to treatment disparities across medical centers.

Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted, including relevant two-arm clinical trials up to September 2023, sourced from Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library. Our primary outcomes were complete occlusion rates during mid-term and long-term follow-ups.

Evaluation of ILAR and PRINTO classifications for juvenile idiopathic arthritis: oligoarticular JIA vs early-onset ANA-positive JIA.

Exploring the influence of health and digital health literacy on quality of life and follow-up compliance in patients with primary non-muscle invasive bladder cancer: a prospective, single-center study.

Objective: Given the increasing significance of digital health literacy (DHL) and health literacy (HL) in promoting informed decision-making and healthy behaviors, this study aimed to assess the influence of self-reported HL and DHL on treatment adherence and quality of life among patients who underwent transurethral resection of bladder tumors (TUR-BT) for primary non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC).

Materials & Methods: This single-center observational study involved patients who underwent TUR-BT for NIMBC at a tertiary hospital from May 2022 to February 2024. Before the procedure, the patients' DHL and HL were evaluated using the European Health Literacy Survey Questionnaire short version and the eHealth Literacy Scale.

Gamma knife radiosurgery for cavernous malformations: a comprehensive study on symptom relief, hemorrhage rates, and histopathological changes.

This study aims to demonstrate the effect of gamma knife radiosurgery (GKRS) on symptoms, hemorrhage rates, and histopathological changes in patients with cavernous malformations (CMs), regardless of whether the symptomatic lesions are hemorrhagic. This single-center retrospective study evaluated symptomatic patients with single CMs treated with GKRS between 2016 and 2023. The patients' demographic data, presenting symptoms, GKRS radiation dose, complications developed during follow-up (hemorrhage, radiotoxicity), the rate of symptom improvement, and histopathological changes of surgically removed CMs were recorded.

Radiotherapy improves stress urinary incontinence but impairs pelvic floor function in endometrial cancer patients: a prospective cohort study.

Purpose: Investigating the impact of radiotherapy on urinary incontinence and pelvic floor dysfunction in endometrial cancer patients.

Method: A comparative study was conducted between endometrial cancer patients who underwent radiotherapy and those who did not receive adjuvant therapy. Patients were assessed during their first follow-up visit at third month post-radiotherapy or post-surgery.

Evidence-Based Practice Attitudes of Neonatal Nurses: A Multicenter Study on the Examination of Internal and External Factors.

Objective: This study aims to determine the internal and external factors affecting the attitudes of neonatal intensive care nurses toward evidence-based practices (EBP).

Methods: The population of this descriptive, cross-sectional, and relation-seeking multicenter study consisted of nurses working in 5 neonatal intensive care units located in 3 provinces of Türkiye. Data were collected using the Information Form, which included nurses' sociodemographic information and internal-external factors affecting evidence-based care practices, the Evidence-Based Nursing Attitude Questionnaire (EBNAQ).

Enhanced Transepithelial Riboflavin Delivery Across the Cornea Using Magnetic Nanocarriers.

Keratoconus is a progressive corneal ectasia characterized by irregular astigmatism, leading to corneal scarring and decreased vision. Corneal cross-linking (CXL) is the standard treatment to halt disease progression, but its effectiveness in transepithelial (epithelium-on, epi-on) approaches is limited by the low permeability of the corneal epithelium to riboflavin (Rb). This study aimed to enhance transepithelial Rb penetration in bovine corneas using Rb-modified tannic acid-coated superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (Rb-TA-SPIONs) under an external magnetic field.

Effect of laparoscopic cholecystectomy on plasma levels of EETs, arachidonic acids derived lipid mediators.

Background: Epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs) are closely associated with lipoprotein metabolism, and changes in lipid profiles potentially affect their levels and functions. Given the alterations in lipid metabolism after cholecystectomy, this study aimed to investigate the levels of four EET regioisomers (free and esterified) and lipid profiles in patients with cholelithiasis after laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) and explore correlations between these parameters.

Comparison of the risk scoring systems in long term restenosis due to percutaneous interventions to the superficial femoral artery.

Percutaneous superficial femoral interventions remain the preferred method of treatment for superficial femoral artery (SFA) disease. This research addresses the gap in efficient thawing methods by investigating the effects of ohmic thawing variables and freezing methods on the thawing speed and quality attributes of ground turkey breast, aiming to identify the optimal ohmic thawing method and compare it with traditional air and water thawing techniques. The variables for ohmic thawing consisted of voltage gradient (10, 15, and 20 V/cm), freezing method (Snap (rapid freezing of samples in liquid nitrogen at -210 °C), -70, and -20 °C), and probe type. The results showed that the snap-freezing method demonstrated superior functional and quality characteristics.
