Faculty of Health Science, Department of Pediatric Nursing, Bingöl University, Bingöl, Turkey.

This study aimed to determine hospital fear points, specific aspects of the hospital experience that are particularly frightening for children, and fear levels of children 5-10 years old who are admitted to the hospital. This descriptive cross-sectional study of 210 children in eastern Turkey aged 5-10 years used a Demographic Findings and Hospital Fears Form and the Child Fear Scale to collect data about the children's demographics, the opinions of the mothers about their children's fears, and the children's fears about the hospital. Children in the outpatient treatment services and emergency department were afraid of blood drawing, intravenous insertion, injections (shots), and separation from their mothers.

The correlation between clinical, serological, and endoscopic findings and histological response after a gluten-free diet (GFD) is limited in adult celiac (CD) patients. This study aims to evaluate the effects of GFD on intraepithelial lymphocyte (IEL) localization by comparing the histopathological, clinical, serological, and endoscopic findings of adult CD patients. The patients (n = 131) were divided into three groups: those with good (CDgc) (n = 23) and poor (CDpc) (n = 21) GFD compliance and newly diagnosed ones (nCD) (n = 87).

Dichlorination of olefins with trichloroisocyanuric acid (TCCA) and tetrabutylammonium chloride (TBACl).

Org Biomol Chem

January 2025

Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Amasya University, Amasya, Turkey.

Herein, a new metal-free, molecular chlorine-free, environmentally friendly, atom-economical, short time, inexpensive and simple operation method with mild reaction conditions for chlorination of alkenes, cyclic alkenes, ,-unsaturated carbonyl compounds, heteroaromatics, and natural products was reported with up to 96% yields using trichloroisocyanuric acid (TCCA) as the electrophilic chlorine source and TBACl as the nucleophilic chlorine source. It was demonstrated with bicyclic alkene benzonorbornadiene that regioselective chlorobromination and dibromination reactions can be carried out through TCCA/TBABr redox reactions, where TCCA acts as an oxidant in the presence of TBABr. The structures of the redox products were confirmed as a result of control experiments conducted with the newly presented DBI/TBACl and DBI/TBABr halogenation pairs.

This study aimed to investigate the impact of early childhood chronic stress on the development of the brain extracellular matrix (ECM) and how alterations in the ECM following early-life adversity (ELA) affect auditory learning and cognitive flexibility. ELA was induced through a combination of maternal separation and neonatal isolation in male Sprague-Dawley rats, and the success of the ELA model was assessed behaviorally and biochemically. A cortex-dependent go/no-go task with two phases was used to determine the impact of ELA on auditory learning and cognitive flexibility.
