This study investigates the effects of microbial bioprocessing (MB), ultrasound treatment (UT), and their combined application (hybrid method, HM) on the functional and nutritional enhancement of wheat bran (WB) and its impact on bread quality. MB was performed by using with LABE 32 (MB32) and LABE 29 (MB29). MB32 significantly increased soluble dietary fiber (SDF) and reduced phytic acid content by up to 25.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare the wear and fracture resistance of single crowns produced from newly developed 3D printer resins used to produce permanent crowns and currently used composite CAD/CAM discs, after being thermomechanically aged in a chewing simulator.
Materials And Methods: A total of 112 stainless steel die models simulating mandibular left first molars were produced, 8 for each group. Single crowns were produced from 3 different discs (Grandio Voco [GR], breCAM HIPC [HC], and Shofu HC [SF]) by CAD/CAM milling method and manufactured from from 4 different permanent composite resins (Nexdent C&B MFH [ND], Permanent Bridge Saremco [PB], VarseoSmile Crownplus [VSC], and Şenertek P-Crown [PC]) using the 3D printing method.

Background: Examining stress distributions in abutment teeth with periapical lesions is essential for understanding their biomechanical impact on dental structures and tissues. This study uses finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate these stress patterns under occlusal forces, aiming to enhance treatment strategies and prosthetic designs.
Methods: Three FEA models were created: a healthy mandibular premolar (Model 1), a premolar with a single crown and a lesion repaired using a fiber-post (Model 2), and 3) a premolar with a lesion repaired using fiber-post to support a four-member bridge (Model 3).

Introduction: This study aimed to compare patient characteristics according to the primary aetiology including gunshot wounds in inpatient individuals diagnosed with enterocutaneous fistula (ECF) or enteroatmospheric fistula (EAF) and to evaluate the impacts of these characteristics on all-cause in-hospital mortality.
Methods: This is a single-centre hospital-based retrospective cohort study conducted with adult patients who were hospitalised for treatment of ECF or EAF. The patients were allocated to three study groups according to their primary aetiology (surgery-related group, gunshot-related group and other-cause group).

Materials And Methods: Fifty participants were divided into thin and thick gingival phenotype groups according to two different classifications. The first classification was based on the GT measured at the base of the gingival sulcus (GT1), whereas the second classification was based on the mean of the GT (GTm) measured at the base of the gingival sulcus (GT1 point) and 1 mm apical (GT2 point) and 2 mm apical to the base of the gingival sulcus (GT3 point).

Hemosporidians are intracellular pathogens that infect a range of endothermic and ectothermic hosts and are transmitted by dipteran vectors. These parasites are grouped into four families: Haemoproteidae, Plasmodiidae, Leucocytozoidae, and Garniidae, with the genera Haemoproteus, Plasmodium, and Leucocytozoon being the most common in birds. Therefore, the objectives of this study were to detect the infection frequency of hemosporidians and to perform hematological and biochemical analyses in free-living turkey vultures (Cathartes aura) in the Amazon biome, Brazil.

Vector-borne pathogens, which are transmitted by blood-feeding arthropods to animals and people, are common in tropical regions where, combined with economic factors, can cause significant public health burden. A community-level study was undertaken in southwestern Guatemala to assess the presence of vector-borne pathogens in blood samples from humans (n = 98), their animals (n = 90), and ectoparasites (n = 83) over a period of 2 weeks. Human capillary blood was collected from participant's index finger, and animal venous blood (chickens, pigs, dogs, and cats) was collected from the jugular or cephalic veins at the enrollment period of a concurrent study.

Lorlatinib is a central nervous system (CNS) penetrant third generation tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) approved for the first line management of metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) rearrangement [1] which accounts for 3-5% of NSCLC cases [2]. The most commonly reported side effects include hyperlipidemia, edema, peripheral neuropathy and CNS effects [2]. While ocular side effects such as photopsia, blurred vision, vitreous floaters and diplopia have been documented with another ALK TKI, crizotinib, there are few reports of such effects with lorlatinib [3].
