Validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Innsbruck RBD-9 diagnostic inventory (IRBD-9-TR).

Background:  Isolated rapid eye movement (REM) sleep behavior disorder (iRBD) is characterized by loss of the normal atonia of REM sleep accompanied by repetitive motor and behavior phenomena of dream content.

Objective:  To evaluate the reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the original form of the Innsbruck Rapid Eye Movement Sleep Behavior Disorder Diagnostic Inventory (IRBD-9) scale (IRBD-9-TR) and ensure that this screening test can be easily used in the Turkish language.

Methods:  The present is a multicenter and prospective study involving 184 patients: 51 with iRBD and 133 healthy controls.

Understanding patient safety during earthquakes: a phenomenological study of disaster response.

Background: Natural hazards, such as earthquakes, pose a significant risk to both the public and healthcare professionals, jeopardising patient safety due to the disruption of healthcare systems and services. This study aimed to explore the lived experiences of healthcare professionals concerning patient safety during natural hazards, specifically earthquakes.

Methods: Employing a descriptive phenomenological approach, the study followed the Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research guidelines.

Several genes, including synaptic proteins and environmental risk factors, play a role in the etiology of autism. We aimed to evaluate the relationship between neuroligin-1 (NLGN-1) and neuroligin-3 (NLGN-3) levels, which are neuronal cell adhesion molecules (CAMs), and inflammatory cytokine (IL-6, IL-8) levels with disease severity and symptom clusters and with each other in children with ASD.

Nivolumab plus ipilimumab versus nivolumab in microsatellite instability-high metastatic colorectal cancer (CheckMate 8HW): a randomised, open-label, phase 3 trial.

Background: CheckMate 8HW prespecified dual primary endpoints, assessed in patients with centrally confirmed microsatellite instability-high or mismatch repair-deficient status: progression-free survival with nivolumab plus ipilimumab compared with chemotherapy as first-line therapy and progression-free survival with nivolumab plus ipilimumab compared with nivolumab alone, regardless of previous systemic treatment for metastatic disease. In our previous report, nivolumab plus ipilimumab showed superior progression-free survival versus chemotherapy in first-line microsatellite instability-high or mismatch repair-deficient metastatic colorectal cancer in the CheckMate 8HW trial. Here, we report results from the prespecified interim analysis for the other primary endpoint of progression-free survival for nivolumab plus ipilimumab versus nivolumab across all treatment lines.

Cardiac thrombus: can T1 and T2 mapping replace contrast enhanced images?

Aim: The aim of the study was to evaluate and compare contrast-to-noise ratios (CNRs) and signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) of pre- and postcontrast T1 maps, T2 maps, early and late gadolinium images in terms of visual assessment of cardiac thrombus, to see if maps can replace contrast-enhanced images for detection of cardiac thrombus.

Materials And Methods: T1, T2 maps, and postcontrast images of 22 patients with cardiac thrombus were retrospectively evaluated for SNR and CNR. SNR and CNR values of thrombus, blood pool, and myocardium measured at maps and contrast-enhanced images were compared with each other.

Detecting IDH and TERTp mutations in diffuse gliomas using H-MRS with attention deep-shallow networks.

Background: Preoperative and noninvasive detection of isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) and telomerase reverse transcriptase gene promoter (TERTp) mutations in glioma is critical for prognosis and treatment planning. This study aims to develop deep learning classifiers to identify IDH and TERTp mutations using proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (H-MRS) and a one-dimensional convolutional neural network (1D-CNN) architecture.

Methods: This study included H-MRS data from 225 adult patients with hemispheric diffuse glioma (117 IDH mutants and 108 IDH wild-type; 99 TERTp mutants and 100 TERTp wild-type).

Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between caregiver burden and life satisfaction among caregivers of individuals with epilepsy.

Methods: This descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted with 210 caregivers at a university hospital located in Van, a province in eastern Türkiye. A personal information form prepared by the researcher based on literature, along with The Caregiver Burden Scale and Life Satisfaction Scale, was used to collect data.

Background: During the perinatal period, risk of depression and anxiety (D&A) increases. As in other crisis events, the COVID-19 pandemic, imposed social distancing measures, diminished social support and changes in perinatal healthcare provision which heightened this risk. This study aimed to examine how changes in social and healthcare provider support during the pandemic affected coping strategies and depression and anxiety symptoms (D&As) among perinatal women.

Radioactive iodine, a key waste product of nuclear energy, has been a significant concern among nuclear materials because of its high volatility and its ability to easily enter the human metabolism. The Effect of Watching Animation-Assisted Information Video on Fear and Anxiety in Children Before an Endoscopy Procedure: A Randomized Controlled Study.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of children watching a video about their upcoming procedure on reducing anxiety and fear before endoscopy. This randomized controlled trial included 46 children aged between 6 and 12 years who underwent endoscopy in the pediatric gastroenterology unit of a hospital in the Black Sea Region of Turkey. Children were randomly assigned to the experimental group or the control group.

The Role of Serum HMGB-1 Level in Differentiating the Soft-Tissue Infection From Diabetic Foot Osteomyelitis.

Background: The incidence of diabetic foot infections is increasing due to the rising number of persons with diabetes and the prolonged life expectancy. It is vital to differentiate soft-tissue infection (STI) from diabetic foot osteomyelitis (DFO), as treatment modalities and durations vary widely, but this can be challenging. We aimed to assess the blood concentration levels of the high mobility group box 1 protein (HMGB-1) in STI and DFO compared to healthy subjects, and to investigate whether this protein could contribute to differentiating STI from DFO.

Comparison of Bicortical Headless Cannulated Screw Fixations, Tension Band Fixations, and Kirschner Wire Fixations of a Jones Fracture: A Biomechanical Study.

Background: The aim of study was to biomechanically compare the fixation of Jones fracture using headless cannulated screw, tension band, and two Kirschner wires.

Methods: A total of 60 fourth-generation, fifth metatarsal synthetic bone models were divided into three groups according to the fixation techniques. A vertical load, oriented from plantar to dorsal and lateral to medial, was applied to the metatarsal specimen that were potted with molding material.
