Background: Air pollution has become a significant global public health concern, with evidence linking it to various adverse health outcomes, including respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. While numerous studies have investigated the effects of these particulate and gaseous pollutants on both healthy individuals and patients, further research is needed to clarify the short-term hematological and pulmonary responses in individuals without underlying health conditions. This study aims to explore the relationship between air quality, hematological parameters, and pulmonary function in a healthy population in Turkey.

Background: This retrospective study aims to characterise the root canal morphology of maxillary and mandibular second molars using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). The number of roots and canal configurations were evaluated using both the Vertucci and Benjamı´n Brisen˜ o Marroquı´n classification systems.
Methods: A total of 1084 second molar images (523 maxillary; 266 right and 257 left side and 561 mandibular; 285 right and 276 left side) were evaluated from 320 CBCT scans analyzed for the Turkish subpopulation.

Recent advances in next generation sequencing (NGS) have positioned whole exome sequencing (WES) as an efficient first-tier method in genetic diagnosis. However, despite the diagnostic yield of 35%-50% in intellectual disability (ID) many patients still remain undiagnosed due to inherent limitations and bioinformatic short-comings. In this study, we reanalyzed WES data from 159 Iranian families showing recessively inherited ID.

Background: Although surface finishing processes are effective against Streptococcus mutans biofilm, the mechanism of action of saliva with different acidity values has not been studied in detail. This study aims to produce four different all-ceramic materials in a single session with CAD/CAM devices and apply two different surface finishing processes, glazing and polishing, and then determine the retention of Streptococcus mutants on the surfaces of the materials in saliva with varying levels of acidity.

Objective: Patients with mild autonomous cortisol secretion (MACS) are at increased risk of cardiometabolic outcomes, such as hyperglycemia, metabolic syndrome, and cardiovascular diseases. Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is also associated with increased cardiometabolic risk. We aimed to investigate the prevalence and predictors of NAFLD in metabolically healthy subjects with MACS.

Background: The study aimed to was to investigate the relationship between miR-2861, miR-5011-5p, and colorectal carcinogenesis.
Method: In the present study, it was isolated RNA from both the tumor and non-tumor tissue of a total of 80 CRC patients and after synthesizing the cDNA, it was performed qRT-PCR to determine the expression levels of miR‑2861 and miR‑5011-5p. In addition, it was predicted that dysregulated miRNAs targets, pathways and functional gene annotations that may be important in colorectal carcinogenesis using KEGG pathway and GO analysis.

Electric furnaces play an important role in many industrial processes where precise temperature control is essential to ensure production efficiency and product quality. Traditional proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controllers and their modified versions are commonly used to maintain temperature stability by reacting quickly to deviations. In this study, the real PID plus second-order derivative (RPIDD) controller is introduced for the first time for industrial temperature control applications, which is a novel alternative that has not yet been investigated in the literature.

Just like in other medical specialties, medical malpractice claims arise in pathology as well. Although the exact rate of malpractice related to pathology cannot be clearly stated in Turkey, it is known to occur more frequently during the diagnosis stage, as reported worldwide. This study discusses the measures that should be taken to prevent these claims by comparing cases with alleged malpractice in pathology, evaluated by the Council of Forensic Medicine, with the literature.

Purpose: Postoperative fever (POF)/urinary tract infection (UTI) is one of the most unpleasant and undesirable conditions for surgeons after retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS). RIRS is not recommended for any patient with a positive urine culture to avoid POF and UTI, but some patients may develop postoperative UTI even if the urine culture is sterile. This study investigated the predictive factors of fever and UTIs after RIRS.

Methods: In all, 30 rats were divided into (1) control (C), (2) constant (MCD), and (3) increasing dose of methylphenidate (MID) groups and 2 subgroups for each of them (nonorthodontic (30 days)/orthodontic (44 days)). After receiving saline or methylphenidate for 30 days, rats in the nonorthodontic groups were euthanized (n = 5/group).

The farming of animals is one of the largest industries, with animal food products, milk, and dairy being crucial components of the global economy. However, zoonotic bacterial diseases, including brucellosis, pose significant risks to human health. The goal of this research is to develop a mathematical model to understand the spread of brucellosis in cattle populations, utilizing the Caputo-Fabrizio operator to control the disease's incidence rate.

Using first principles calculations, we show that [Formula: see text] materials have strong electron-phonon coupling, with many having a superconducting critical temperature ([Formula: see text]) that exceeds that of the more familiar [Formula: see text] at ambient pressure. In particular, we find that [Formula: see text] is the most stable member of the family, with [Formula: see text] whilst the peak [Formula: see text] is with [Formula: see text] which has [Formula: see text]. Our results reveal that these materials are both thermodynamically and dynamically stable, with strong electron-phonon coupling, indicating significant potential for practical superconducting applications.

The introduction of (p, q)-rung linear Diophantine fuzzy set into the field of fuzzy set theory is a significant advancement, providing a broader perspective to address complicated decision-making scenarios. Alongside, the preference ranking organization method for enrichment of evaluation (PROMETHEE) emerges as a widely recognized tool for tackling multi-criteria decision-making challenges. This study contributes theoretically to the decision-making field by integrating (p, q)-rung linear Diophantine fuzzy sets into the PROMETHEE framework, improving (p, q)-rung linear Diophantine fuzzy sets adaptability and efficiency in practical aspects, the proposed framework can effectively address various intricate decision-making challenges encountered in real-world scenarios.
