Rapid progressing non-small cell lung adenocarcinoma (NSCLC) decreases treatment success. Cannabinoids emerge as drug candidates for NSCLC due to their anti-tumoral capabilities. We previously reported the controlled release of Arachidonoylcyclopropylamide (ACPA) selectively targeting cannabinoid 1 (CB1) receptor in NSCLC cells in vitro.

Alginate/gelatin blend fibers for functional high-performance air filtration applications.

Int J Biol Macromol

December 2024

Department of Textile Engineering, Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey. Electronic address:

Currently, the primary composition of fibrous filter materials predominantly relies on synthetic polymers derived from petroleum. The utilization of these polymers, as well as their production process, has a negative impact on the environment. Consequently, the adoption of air filter media fabricated from natural fibers would yield significant environmental benefits.

Background: In the US, Women, especially Black and Latina women living in disadvantaged environments, are disproportionally affected by HIV. Women living with HIV (WLHIV) have higher rates of suboptimal antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence, and detectable viral load (VL). Experiences of intersectional poverty, HIV, gender, and racial stigmas may increase the rates of detectable VL through suboptimal ART adherence.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the radiobiological effects underlying the inhibition of breast cancer (BCa) following radiotherapy in nude mice models, and to evaluate the impact of changes in immunohistochemical parameters induced by FF and FFF beams.

Materials And Methods: The study included thirty-six adult nude mouse models, which were randomly assigned to five groups: control (G1), breast cancer (BCa) (G2), FF-400 MU/min (G3), FFF-1100 MU/min (G4), and FFF-1800 MU/min (G5). The control group received neither radiation nor treatment, while the BCa group had a cancer model without radiation.

This study investigates the relation and Granger causality among inflation, fiscal expenditure, energy consumption, economic growth, energy efficiency, renewable energy consumption, and environmental pollution in the G7 countries utilizing the PLSTRVAR model for 1975-2022. Our findings highlight the results that inflation and fiscal expenditure have impact on environmental pollution across different regimes. On the other hand, unlike some studies in the literature, it emphasizes that renewable energy consumption may have pollution-increasing effects on environmental pollution.

The present study aimed to unveil the gastroprotective potential of Vaccinium macrocarpon (VM) extract and its mechanism of action against indomethacin (INDO)-induced gastric ulcers in rats. To achieve this goal, rats were pretreated with either omeprazole (20 mg/kg) or VM (100 mg/kg) orally for 14 consecutive days. Gastric tissue samples were collected and various parameters were evaluated to understand the mechanism of VM's action, including the levels of superoxide dismutase, malondialdehyde, glutathione, CAT and transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β), as well as the mRNA expression levels of tumour necrosis factor alpha, interleukin 1 beta, nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) and inhibitor kappa B (IκB).
