Methods: Employing a cross-sectional descriptive design, the study surveyed 405 nursing students using a 'Personal Information Form', the 'Nurses' Observations on Infection Control and Prevention Questionnaire', the 'Standard Precautions Scale', and the 'Factors Affecting Compliance with Standard Precautions Scale'.

Review of advanced sensor system applications in grinding operations.

Background: Today, in a wide variety of industries, grinding operations are an extremely important finishing process for obtaining precise dimensions and meeting strict requirements for roughness and shape accuracy. However, the constant wear of abrasive tools during grinding negatively affects the dimensional and surface conditions of the workpiece. Therefore, effective monitoring of the wear process during grinding operations helps to predict tool life, plan maintenance and ensure consistent product quality.

Optic Nerve Head Changes in Acute Central Serous Chorioretinopathy: Implications for Glaucoma Risk.

Objective: Imaging techniques have demonstrated changes in the choroid and retina in acute central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR), but the effects on the optic nerve head (ONH) remain unclear. This study investigates ONH structural changes in acute CSCR using enhanced deep imaging optic coherence tomography (EDI-OCT).

Methods: A prospective cohort study included 51 acute CSCR patients and 51 healthy controls aged 18-65 years.

Optimized microwave-assisted extraction and characterization of spray dried Luffa aegyptiaca nanomucilage: Physicochemical properties, biological activities, and anticancer efficacy against MCF-7 human breast cancer cells.

Microwave-assisted extraction conditions were optimized using response surface methodology to evaluate the effects of extraction parameters on the yield and carbohydrate content of Luffa aegyptiaca mucilage. Extraction at 540 W for 2 min with a 1:20 (g/mL) was determined as the optimal parameter, resulting in a maximum yield of 5.90 % (w/w) with 63 % carbohydrate content consisting of glucose, galactose, maltose, mannose, and galacturonic acid, with structural linkages of β (1 → 4) and β (1 → 6) glycosidic bonds.

Gelatins derived from aronia-supplemented fish diets: Structural effect and molecular simulation.

Fish gelatin, a sustainable substitute for mammalian gelatin, frequently exhibits weaker gel strength and thermal stability, limiting its industrial uses. This study investigated an in vivo method to improve functional characteristics by supplementing Nile tilapia diets with Aronia extract. The control diet (A0) contained no Aronia extract, while the remaining four diets consisted of commercial pelleted feed enriched with 250 mg/kg (A250), 500 mg/kg (A500), 750 mg/kg (A750), and 1000 mg/kg (A1000) of Aronia extract.

Context: Limited information exists regarding the immediate and short-term effects of scapula retraction exercises (SREs) on acromiohumeral distance (AHD) in subacromial pain syndrome (SPS). This study's 2 main objectives were to investigate (1) the immediate effect of the SRE on AHD at varying shoulder abduction angles in patients with SPS and healthy controls and (2) the effect of the 8-week SRE program on AHD in patients with SPS.

Design: Cross-sectional and pre-post intervention designs were utilized on this study.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on postmenopausal women aged 40-65 years who presented at Istanbul Bakırköy Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital between January 2021 and March 2023. Recycling of protein-rich environmental wastes and obtaining more valuable products from these recycled products is a topic of interest for researchers. This study aims to produce, purify, and characterize the physicochemical and structural properties of the protease enzyme produced from Brevibacillus agri SAR25 using salmon fish waste as substrate and also to evaluate the effect of protease on the chicken feather, enzyme-ligand interactions, and active site surface area. The production of protease was optimum on 50 g/L fish waste, pH 8, 40 °C, 96 h, and 150 rpm.

Investigation of corneal topographic and ocular surface parameters in ocular rosacea based on skin subtypes.

Objective: To compare the corneal topographic parameters and ocular surface parameters of ocular rosacea (OR) patients across skin subtypes of the disease and healthy controls.

Background: In pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, neural invasion is being increasingly recognized as an unfavorable predictor of patient outcomes. Neural invasion severity seems to have a stronger clinical impact on patient prognosis than neural invasion status alone. Therefore, this study aims to assess the impact of severity of neural invasion on overall survival and disease-free survival in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.

Predictive Value of Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced Breast Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Diffusion-Weighted Imaging Findings for Sentinel Lymph Node Metastasis in Early-Stage Invasive Breast Cancer.

Objective: This retrospective study aimed to evaluate the predictive value of the preoperative dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) findings of mass lesions for predicting sentinel lymph node (SLN) metastasis in early breast cancer.

Methods: A total of 310 patients with suspicious mass lesions detected in preoperative MRI who subsequently underwent surgery and SLN biopsy (SLNB) between September 2015 and September 2022 were analyzed. The relationship between DCE-MRI and DWI findings and SLNB positivity was analyzed.

Protocol to study neuronal membrane proteasome function in mouse peripheral sensory neurons.

Neuronal membrane proteasomes (NMPs) are expressed on a subset of somatosensory dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons and influence mechanical and pain sensitivity. Here, we present a protocol for studying NMP function in mouse peripheral sensory neurons. We describe steps for procuring and culturing primary DRG neurons.

Motile cilia modulate neuronal and astroglial activity in the zebrafish larval brain.

The brain uses a specialized system to transport cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), consisting of interconnected ventricles lined by motile ciliated ependymal cells. These cells act jointly with CSF secretion and cardiac pressure gradients to regulate CSF dynamics. To date, the link between cilia-mediated CSF flow and brain function is poorly understood.

Development of a Prognostic Nomogram for Overall Survival in Gastric Cancer Patients Who Underwent Adjuvant Chemoradiotherapy.
