Introduction: The prevalence rates of hepatosteatosis and gallstones are increasing owing to the multifactorial causes of chronic kidney disease, and the prevalence may change with the availability of different forms of renal replacement therapy. We aimed to determine the incidence or prevalence rates of hepatosteatosis, cholelithiasis, and acute cholecystitis in patients with chronic kidney disease and compare them between renal replacement therapy modalities.

Methods: A total of 270 patients (90 with chronic kidney disease stages III-V, 90 undergoing peritoneal dialysis, and 90 undergoing hemodialysis) were included and categorized into the pre-dialysis, hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis groups.

The combination of hepatitis B immunoglobulin and potent nucleos(t)ide analogs after liver transplantation is considered as the standard of care for prophylaxis against hepatitis B virus recurrence. However, the recommended doses, route of administration, and duration of HBIG administration remain unclear. Moreover, hepatitis B immunoglobulin-free prophylaxis with potent nucleos(t)ide analogs has shown promising disease outcomes in preventing hepatitis B virus recurrence.

Introduction: COVID-19 pneumonia typically presents with high fever, cough, and shortness of breath and on thorax computed tomography (CT) peripheral ground glass opacities help the diagnosis. Although typical imaging findings for COVID-19 pneumonia are specified in thorax CT, these findings can be confused with other diseases. The aim of this study is to investigate the roles of radiological imaging and laboratory findings in the differential diagnosis of COVID-19 pneumonia and acute heart failure (AHF).

Background: Increased microvascular resistance due to chronic inflammation is assumed to be one of the mechanisms associated with coronary slow flow (CSF). Previous studies have shown that the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) are markers of inflammation for various diseases. In this study we aimed to evaluate the relationship between CSF and PLR-NLR.
