The mortality risk associated with breast cancer is experiencing an exponential rise, underscoring the critical importance of early detection. It is the primary cause of mortality among women under 50 and ranks as the second deadliest disease globally. Timely identification is crucial, as heightened public awareness and accurate diagnosis can significantly reduce mortality rates.

Context: This article suggests that the olfaction process can be simplified to an adsorption mechanism by utilizing the Machilis hrabei olfactory receptor MhOR5 as a biological adsorbent. The odorant molecules such as geosmin, linalool, and o-cresol were used as adsorbates. The aim of the present study is to provide new insights into the docking process of the tested odorants on MhOR5 using numerical simulation via an advanced statistical physics model to fit the corresponding response curves.

The measurement of Sr/Sr isotope ratios is a powerful tool for determining the geographical origin of food products, helping to fight against food fraud. This study evaluates the potential of Sr isotopic ratios for tracing the provenance of Tunisian olive oil. Soil, roots, leaves, olive oil, and pomace were analyzed from multiple orchards across Tunisia.

Background: Blood culture-negative infective endocarditis presents a significant clinical and diagnostic challenge owing to its atypical presentation and difficulty in identifying causative pathogens. Bartonella henselae, a rare cause of blood culture-negative infective endocarditis, can further complicate its diagnosis and treatment.
Case Presentation: This case report describes the intricate diagnostic journey and therapeutic challenges encountered in a 65-year-old Tunisian female diagnosed with Bartonella henselae-induced infective endocarditis.

Background: Public health experts currently agree that heated tobacco products (HTPs) pose a significant health risk for their consumers. The same concentrations and speed of delivery of nicotine found for HTPs and conventional combustion cigarettes make it necessary to consider the addictiveness of HTPs, and provide precise diagnostic instruments to serve as the basis for effective treatment plans. Therefore, the main objectives of this study were to design a questionnaire for HTPs addiction called "Heated Tobacco Products Addiction Questionnaire (HeaTPAQ)" and to examine its psychometric properties.

Nanoparticles (NPs) have actively contributed to nanotechnologies advancement over the last years, due to the unique properties they possess compared to their pristine counterparts. Consequently, NPs found wide applications in various fields such as the medical, biomedical, chemical, agro-food industries, and cosmetology. NP's extensive uses could lead to their release into the environment, especially in the marine ecosystems, considered as NPs sink, resulting in harmful effects on organisms.

Introduction: The camel-infesting tick, , is a prominent ectoparasite in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, critically impacting camel health and acting as a vector for tick-borne pathogens. Despite prior studies on its microbiota, the effects of geographic origin and sex on microbial community structure and functional stability remain poorly understood.
Methods: To address this, we characterized the bacterial microbiota of ticks collected from camels in Tunisia (TUN) and Saudi Arabia (SA) using 16S rRNA gene sequencing, microbial network analysis, and metabolic pathway prediction.

Transglutaminase (TGase) is an enzyme that catalyzes acyl transfer reactions by creating covalent cross-links between protein molecules and has been used to improve the physical and functional properties of protein-based foods. The objectives of this study were the extraction, purification, and biochemical characterization of TGase from sardine () flesh in order to provide a suitable TGase enzyme for food industry applications. The results showed a specific activity, yield, and purification fold of 357.

Brucellosis represents a significant global health concern that is endemic in many regions of the world, especially in Maghreb (Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria). In Tunisia the diagnosis of human brucellosis is primarily based on serological tests and cultivation of the causative pathogen, without the knowledge of the underlying species or biovar. In addition, the scarcity of laboratories with adequate biosecurity measures to handle suspected specimens constitutes a significant challenge.

Background/objectives: The increased frequency of extreme weather events related to climate change, including the occurrence of extreme temperatures, severely affects crop yields, impairing global food security. Heat stress resulting from temperatures above 30 °C is associated with poor germination performance and stand establishment. The combination of climate-resilient crop genotypes and tailored seed priming treatments might represent a reliable strategy to overcome such drawbacks.

Pediatricians are among the most trusted sources of vaccine information for parents. We aimed, in this study, to describe the attitudes and practices of Tunisian pediatricians regarding non-National Immunization Schedule (NIS) vaccines, specifically the COVID-19 vaccination for children, and to identify factors associated with their willingness to recommend it. We conducted a national cross-sectional study among Tunisian pediatricians between July and October 2023 using a standardized questionnaire administered face-to-face.

Vinegar, frequently distilled by solid fermentation or liquid processes, was generated through the synergistic effect of a microbial community in open or semi-open environments. Based on the studied raw materials, researchers distributed the vinegar into three classes: grain, fruit and animal, with lactic acid bacteria (LAB) playing a pivotal role in their fermentation and contributing significantly to their functional and sensory qualities. Typically, the natural maturation of fresh vinegar necessitates a long period and vast space, engendering a reduced efficiency.

In this study, the antimicrobial effect of peel extract against was analyzed in silico, tested in vitro, and validated in fermented cow milk during cold storage. The in silico analysis revealed that 4,5-di-O-caffeoyquinic acid interacts with proteins involved in colonization and intracellular survival. The in vitro experiments demonstrated that the anti- activity of peel extract is primarily attributed to limonene and phenolic compounds.
