Girgentana goats are an ancient breed with distinctive morphological, adaptive, and production traits, making this population an interesting model for studying the genetic architecture underlying these traits. These special features result from natural and human-mediated selection. In this study, we aimed to detect potential signatures of selection in the Girgentana genome by combining the following statistical methods: the integrated haplotype score (iHS), the standardised log-ratio of the integrated site-specific extended haplotype homozygosity test between pairs of populations (Rsb), the runs of homozygosity (ROH) islands and the population differentiation index (F).

Pituitary neuroendocrine tumors (PitNETS) are common intracranial tumors, but extrasellar or ectopic PitNETS are very rare and supposed to originate from some pituitary remnants. They are mostly found in sphenoidal sinus. But particularly, ectopic clival PitNETS are highly aggressive and can cause bone invasion and can be misdiagnosed as other lesions of the skull base such as chordomas.

Background: Verbal coach encouragement is a key motivational strategy that enhances skill development, game strategy execution, and team cohesion. In youth basketball, where players are still developing technical and decision-making abilities, coach encouragement can play a crucial role in sustaining effort, improving focus, and fostering resilience under small-sided games (SSGs). This study investigated how coach encouragement (CE) influences young basketball players' technical performance and psychophysiological responses during competitive gameplay.

One strategy to mitigate the impact of warming temperatures is to identify and introgress adaptive genes into elite germplasm. Diversity must be sought in wild populations, coupled with an understanding of the complex pattern of adaptation across a broad range of landscapes.

Background: Eastern Mediterranean countries, particularly Lebanon, have seen a significant rise in mental disorders, primarily driven by ongoing economic instability, political unrest, and regional conflicts. These conditions fuel feelings of unsafety, which are linked to lower psychological well-being and increased depressive symptoms. Unsafe circumstances inflate apprehension and uncertainty, leaving individuals unable to foresee a stable, secure tomorrow and often trapped in an anticipatory negative thinking state.

Microsatellite instability (MSI) is an important biomarker in colorectal cancer (CRC), influencing prognosis and treatment decisions. While conventional MSI detection typically relies on the pentaplex panel, newer markers like HSP110 T17 (HT-17) and CAT-25 may offer simpler, more cost-effective alternatives. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of HT-17 and CAT-25 for detecting MSI in sporadic CRC and to explore any links between MSI status and clinicopathological features.
