Poly(adenosine diphosphate-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors as maintenance therapy after first-line chemotherapy have improved progression-free survival in women with advanced ovarian cancer; however, not all PARP inhibitors can provide benefit for a biomarker-unselected population. Senaparib is a PARP inhibitor that demonstrated antitumor activity in patients with solid tumors, including ovarian cancer, in phase 1 studies. The multicenter, double-blind, phase 3 trial FLAMES randomized (2:1) 404 females with advanced ovarian cancer (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics stage III-IV) and response to first-line platinum-based chemotherapy to senaparib 100 mg (n = 271) or placebo (n = 133) orally once daily for up to 2 years.

Chest wall tumors are a relatively uncommon disease in clinical practice. Most of the published studies about chest wall tumors are usually single-center retrospective studies, involving few patients. Therefore, evidences regarding clinical conclusions about chest wall tumors are lacking, and some controversial issues have still to be agreed upon.

Prostate cancer (PCa) has become one of the common malignant diseases in elderly men, and its incidence is increasing year by year. Apart from surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, immunotherapy, as with the programmed death receptor-1 (PD-1) or the programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1) inhibitor, is a most promising new strategy for the treatment of PCa. PD-1 and PD-L1 inhibitors restore the activity of T cells by blocking the PD-1/PD-L1 signaling pathway in tumor cells, reverse the mechanism of tumor immune escape, recover the immune system and directly kill tumor cells.

Patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) containing ROS1 fusions can have a marked response to the ROS1-targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), such as crizotinib. Common resistance mechanisms of ROS1-fusion targeted therapy are acquired mutations in ROS1. Along with the use of next-generation sequencing in the clinical management of patients with NSCLC during sequential targeted therapy, many mechanisms of acquired resistance have been discovered in patients with activated tyrosine kinase receptors.

Lung cancer mortality remains high, and only approximately 15% of patients with non-small cell lung cancer survive for more than five years. The purpose of this research was to investigate the prognostic value and biological functions of G protein regulated inducer of neuritis outgrowth 1(GPRIN1) in lung cancer. We used the Kaplan-Meier method to analyze the correlation between GPRIN1 and overall survival, and performed Cox regression to determine whether GPRIN1 might be an independent predictive factor for lung adenocarcinoma prognosis.

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) can be over two hundred nucleotides in length and lack an obvious open reading frame (ORF). Interestingly, these RNAs form a group of nucleic acids involved in a variety of diverse cellular mechanisms involving proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and senescence. Given these characteristics, it is not unexpected that the aberrant expression of certain lncRNAs is strongly linked to oncogenesis and tumor advancement.

Background: Recently, intestinal microbiome has been involved in hepatic diseases due to the immunologic and metabolic communication between liver and intestine. Initiation of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) frequently attributes to conspiracy between immune cells and infectious carcinogens. Here, the hypothesis that the tumorigenesis of HCC with HBV infection will be aggravated by specific intestinal bacteria was verified in viral transgenic mouse models.

F-box only protein 22 (FBXO22), a substrate receptor of the SKP1-Cullin 1-F-box protein (SCF) E3 ubiquitin ligase that targets key regulators of cellular activities for ubiquitylation and degradation, plays important roles in the progression of human cancer. However, little is known about the role of FBXO22 in renal cell carcinoma (RCC). This study aims to explore the biological function of FBXO22 in RCC progression and its specific regulation mechanism.
