Natto, known for its high vitamin K content, has been demonstrated to suppress atherosclerosis in large-scale clinical trials through a yet-unknown mechanism. In this study, we used a previously reported mouse model, transplanting the bone marrow of mice expressing infra-red fluorescent protein (iRFP) into LDLR-deficient mice, allowing unique and non-invasive observation of foam cells expressing iRFP in atherosclerotic lesions. Using 3 natto strains, we meticulously examined the effects of varying vitamin K levels on atherosclerosis in these mice.

Deconvolution microscopy is a computational image-processing technique used in conjunction with fluorescence microscopy to increase the resolution and contrast of three-dimensional images. Fluorescence microscopy is a widely used technique in biology and medicine that involves labeling specific molecules or structures within a sample with fluorescent dyes and then electronically photographing the sample through a microscope. However, the resolution of conventional fluorescence microscopy is limited by diffraction within the microscope's optical path, which causes blurring of the image and reduces the ability to resolve structures in close proximity with one another.

This preliminary study investigated the efficacy and safety of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cell transplantation in a piglet Legg-Calve-Perthes disease (LCPD) model. The purpose of this study was to improve the method of using an inclined parallel plate (IPP) in directly estimating the yield stress and evaluating the properties of a thickened liquid. The flow curve of the relationship between the shear rate and shear stress of a liquid thickened with a xanthan gum agent was predicted using the Herschel-Bulkley fluid model ( ). Aims: Upregulated p38 signaling is implicated in the accelerated proliferation of pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells (PA-SMCs) and the pathogenesis of pulmonary artery remodeling observed in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Previously, we reported that after endothelin-1 (ET-1) pretreatment, bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP2) activates p38 signaling and accelerates PA-SMC proliferation. Background: Although patients receiving hemodialysis are more likely to develop metabolic disorders and muscle weakness at an earlier stage than healthy individuals, many older dialysis patients have difficulty establishing exercise habits to prevent these problems.
