Aim: This study aimed to explore the psychological and dynamic process of modification and evaluate its time-series peculiarity in family caregivers involved in associations for the families of dementia patients.

Methods: The current study included 39 family caregivers involved in two associations for the families of dementia patients. Five-year free group conversations in the family caregivers were recorded and converted into a verbatim record.

The coexistence of lumbar intervertebral disc (IVD) herniation and cauda equina schwannoma in symptomatic patients is uncommon. We experienced a case with a surgically treated cauda equina schwannoma with concomitant lumbar IVD herniation (L2/L3); both were relatively small but presented with painful symptoms in combination. A 45-year old man complained of low back pain and right anterior thigh pain six months prior to surgery.

Standard Fourier domain optical coherence tomography (FD-OCT) and line-field Fourier domain optical coherence tomography (LF-FDOCT) are described. The standard FD-OCT has the measurement speed of 36 frames/sec and one frame consisting 500 A-scans. The LF-FDOCT is an improved version of FD-OCT and determines a cross section of a sample without any mechanical scanning.

Reported is the case of 61-year-old male patient who developed an abscess, secondary to a ruptured retrocecal appendicitis, while undergoing effective chemotherapy for lung cancer. Patients undergoing cancer chemotherapy are especially susceptible to infectious complications because chemotherapy can cause myelosuppression. To our knowledge, has been no previous reported case of retrocecal appendicitis occurring during chemotherapy for the lung cancer.

[Proton beam therapy of cancer in deep-seated organs].

Radiation therapy has shown definite technical improvement due to application of proton beam irradiation. Clinical results of proton beam therapy also suggested enlargement of indication ranges in radial treatment and decrease of post radiation damages of the treatment of cancers in deep-seated organs. Improvement of result in cancer therapy could be expected by this treatment technique in the future.
