Non-alcoholic fatty pancreatic disease (NAFPD), also known as pancreatic steatosis, is a benign condition characterized by deposition of lipids in the pancreas and is associated with insulin resistance, malnutrition, obesity, metabolic syndrome, aging, and absence of heavy alcohol intake or infection. Similar to nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, NAFPD is a phenotypic entity that includes fat buildup in the pancreas, pancreatic inflammation, and subsequent fibrosis. The extent to which pancreatic fat infiltration is clinically important remains unclear.

This case report presents a rare case of necrotizing fasciitis (NF) following liposuction and lipofilling surgery in a young woman. Despite prompt diagnosis and aggressive management with multiple debridements, broad-spectrum antibiotics, and supportive care, the patient experienced a protracted course with severe complications, including intra-abdominal collection recurrence, heart failure, and sepsis. The presence of resistant bacteria (extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBLs)-producing and methicillin-resistant (MRSA)) further challenged the treatment.

Small bowel obstruction (SBO) in pregnancy is a challenging diagnosis. Case rarity, non-specific presentations, and the non-practicality of using X-ray/gamma-ray imaging modalities in pregnancy contribute to the increased difficulty in timely diagnosing midgut volvulus during pregnancy, thereby increasing maternal and fetal morbidity. We report a case of midgut volvulus in a 39-year-old lady, gravida 3, para 2, with two previous cesarean sections.

Purpose: The incidence, patient features, risk factors and outcomes of surgery-associated postoperative acute kidney injury (PO-AKI) across different countries and health care systems is unclear.
Methods: We conducted an international prospective, observational, multi-center study in 30 countries in patients undergoing major surgery (> 2-h duration and postoperative intensive care unit (ICU) or high dependency unit admission). The primary endpoint was the occurrence of PO-AKI within 72 h of surgery defined by the Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) criteria.

Unlabelled: A stab wound in the heart is associated with high mortality rates. Rapid patient transfer to the closest hospital, maximal speed in establishing a diagnosis, and highly trained prompt surgical intervention are all crucial to achieving a positive result in the treatment of these critical patients.
Case Presentation: This report presents a 28-year-old man with a stab wound to the chest, causing pericardial tamponade and a myocardial injury that presented with shock.

Diabetic macular edema (DME) is the most common cause of visual impairment among patients with diabetes mellitus. Anti-vascular endothelial growth factors (Anti-VEGFs) are considered the first line in its management. The aim of this research has been to develop a deep learning (DL) model for predicting response to intravitreal anti-VEGF injections among DME patients.

Background: Obesity is associated with increased prevalence of gastroesophageal reflux disease, with recent reports suggesting improvement in gastroesophageal reflux disease symptoms and weight loss following bariatric surgical intervention. However, the exact impact of the type of bariatric surgery on the evolution of gastroesophageal reflux disease symptoms has remained unexamined.
Methods: We systematically searched electronic databases (PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library from inception to December 2018) for eligible studies that satisfy prespecified inclusion criteria.

Background: Cancer incidence and cancer registries are essential for local epidemiological information. In Libya, scarce evidence exists with regard to incidence rates and distribution.
Aim: To estimate cancer incidence in Libya and draw trends of cancer type distribution compared to regional and worldwide data.
Background: The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has severely affected African countries, specifically the countries, such as Libya, that are in constant conflict. Clinical and laboratory information, including mortality and associated risk factors in relation to hospital settings and available resources, about critically ill patients with COVID-19 in Africa is not available. This study aimed to determine the mortality and morbidity of COVID-19 patients in intensive care units (ICU) following 60 days after ICU admission, and explore the factors that influence in-ICU mortality rate.

The chest Computer Tomography (CT scan) is used in the diagnosis of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and is an important complement to the Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test. The paper aims to improve the radiological diagnosis in the case of coronavirus disease COVID-19 pneumonia on forms of noninvasive approaches with conventional and high-resolution computer tomography (HRCT) scan images upon chest CT images of patients confirmed with mild to severe findings. The preliminary study is to compare the radiological findings of COVID-19 pneumonia in conventional chest CT images with images processed by a new tool and reviewed by expert radiologists.
