Background: When the SRY gene is present in a 46,XX fetus, some degree of testicular development is expected. Our laboratory performed prenatal genetic testing for a fetus that had screened positive for Y chromosome material by noninvasive prenatal screening (NIPS) but that had apparently typical female development by ultrasound imaging. The aim of this study was to determine the clinical relevance of the NIPS results.

Background: Chromoanagenesis is an umbrella term used to describe catastrophic "all at once" cellular events leading to the chaotic reconstruction of chromosomes. It is characterized by numerous rearrangements involving a small number of chromosomes/loci, copy number gains in combination with deletions, reconstruction of chromosomal fragments with improper order/orientation, and preserved heterozygosity in copy number neutral regions. Chromoanagesis is frequently described in association with cancer; however, it has also been described in the germline.

Introduction: Maternal laparotomy-assisted fetoscopic surgery for in-utero myelomeningocele repair has shown that a trans-amniotic membrane suture during fetoscopic port placement can reduce postsurgical complications. Fetoscopic laser photocoagulation (FLP) for complex twins is typically performed percutaneously without a transmembrane stitch. However, in scenarios without a placental-free window, maternal laparotomy may be used for recipient sac access.

Objective: To describe the ultrasonographic appearance of the post-ablative endometrium to improve knowledge of its sonographic findings.
Methods: This was an Institutional Review Board approved prospective study of patients who underwent second-generation endometrial ablation from 2016 to 2019 at a single health system. Patients had postoperative transvaginal ultrasounds at 2, 6, and 12 months.

Background: Posterior instability has been reported to account for up to 24% of cases of shoulder instability in certain active populations. However, there is a paucity of data available regarding the risk factors associated with posterior glenoid bone loss.
Purpose: To characterize the epidemiology of, and risk factors associated with, glenoid bone loss within a cohort of patients who underwent primary arthroscopic shoulder stabilization for isolated posterior-type glenohumeral instability.

Since 2010, Ohio legislators have passed more than 15 legislative changes related to abortion and abortion providers, and nine procedural abortion clinics have closed. We investigated reproductive genetic counselors' perceptions, attitudes and self-reported practices regarding Ohio's current and proposed abortion regulations. We conducted five focus groups and two telephone interviews in 2019-2020, with a total of 19 reproductive genetic counselors.

To evaluate pharmacy students' knowledge of and confidence regarding penicillin allergy assessment and skin testing (PAAST) before and after a focused didactic instruction and simulation (FDIS). A multicenter, quasi-experimental, cross-sectional survey study was performed among pharmacy students before and after FDIS on PAAST at two schools of pharmacy. The FDIS on PAAST consisted of an infectious disease faculty-led seminar, student-led penicillin allergy counseling interviews, penicillin skin testing simulation, and case studies to assess penicillin allergy scenarios and management.

Background: The effects of neuraxial analgesia on fetal heart tracings have been studied in "healthy" pregnancies. Our objective was to compare the impact of intrapartum epidural analgesia (EA) versus combined spinal epidural analgesia (CSE) on fetal heart rate changes in pregnancies at risk for uteroplacental insufficiency (UPI).
Methods: Singleton pregnancies diagnosed with chronic hypertension, gestational hypertension and/or preeclampsia, and/or fetal growth restriction (FGR) and receiving neuraxial analgesia intrapartum from 2012 to 2015 were studied retrospectively.

Objective: Carotid artery stenosis is frequently diagnosed through screening tests with noninvasive imaging. Because of differences noted between the various modalities, we sought to investigate our experience comparing noninvasive imaging (ultrasound, computed tomography angiography, magnetic resonance angiography) with invasive imaging (digital subtraction angiography).
Methods: In a multicenter retrospective analysis, 249 carotid vessels were reviewed based on angiography with the associated noninvasive imaging.

The potential for adverse events exists when treating and managing orthopaedic patients in the intraoperative or postoperative environments, especially when it comes to falls, surgical site infections, venous thromboembolism, and injuries to nerves and blood vessels. Orthopaedic nurses play a vital role in the promotion and use of evidence-based interventions to decrease the incidence of these adverse events, improve quality of care, and minimize the financial burden related to these adverse events.

Closed pulley ruptures are rare in the general population but occur more frequently in rock climbers due to biomechanical demands on the hand. Injuries present with pain and swelling over the affected pulley, and patients may feel or hear a pop at the time of injury. Sequential pulley ruptures are required for clinical bowstringing of the flexor tendons.

Background: Gastroschisis complicates 1 in 2000 births and is readily identifiable during prenatal ultrasound scans. Outcomes in fetuses that are affected by gastroschisis vary widely from stillbirth or neonatal death to uncomplicated surgical correction, which makes prenatal counseling challenging.
Objective: The goal of our study was to identify sonographic markers that are associated with perinatal death and morbidity that include significant bowel injury, necrotizing enterocolitis, and the need for bowel resection in fetuses with gastroschisis.
