This study was designed to create a deep learning model (DLM) for predicting future PMI from ECG data and assess its ability to predict future cardiovascular events.

Evaluation of Collagen Dermal Filler with Lidocaine for the Correction of Nasolabial Folds: A Randomized, Double-Blind, Multicenter Clinical Trial.

Purpose: Porcine-based dermal injectable collagen is effective for nasolabial fold correction. In the present study, a new dermal injectable collagen, incorporating a novel cross-linking technology and premixed with lidocaine, was introduced. The study aimed to determine the efficacy of the new dermal injectable collagen in improving bilateral nasolabial fold wrinkles, and reducing pain during injection.

Artificial Intelligence-Clinical Decision Support System in Infectious Disease Control: Combatting Multidrug-Resistant with Machine Learning.

Purpose: The World Health Organization has identified (KP) as a significant threat to global public health. The rising threat of carbapenem-resistant (CRKP) leads to prolonged hospital stays and higher medical costs, necessitating faster diagnostic methods. Traditional antibiotic susceptibility testing (AST) methods demand at least 4 days, requiring 3 days on average for culturing and isolating the bacteria and identifying the species using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS), plus an extra day for interpreting AST results.

Heterogenous liver parenchymal enhancement in CT is a favorable prognosis of HCC after hepatic resection.

This study aimed to define the role of heterogeneity of liver parenchymal enhancement on computed tomography (CT) in the survival of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after hepatic resection. The medical records of patients with HCCs and who had undergone hepatic resection were retrospectively reviewed. The standard deviation (SD) of three different enhanced CT scan images was used to estimate the heterogeneity of liver parenchymal enhancement: SD of > 5.

Dynamic changes in γδT cells and bone resorption markers after zoledronic acid in multiple myeloma: A prospective study.

We conducted a prospective evaluation for the dynamic change of γδT cells in peripheral blood (PB) and N-telopeptide of type I collagen in urine (uNTX) of patients diagnosed with multiple myeloma (MM) who underwent their initial treatment with zoledronic acid (ZOA; Zobonic®, TTY, Taiwan). Between March 2012 and November 2015, a total of 35 patients were enrolled, including 25 newly diagnosed MM (NDMM) patients. The percentage of γδT cells in PB was assessed at 20 days prior to the first ZOA infusion, then at day 8, day 64, and day 85 after the infusion.

Arteriovenous malformation-related headache and seizures in pregnancy masquerading as eclampsia: A case report.

Objective: Cerebral arteriovenous malformation during pregnancy is rare but lethal disease that usually present with new-onset seizures and headaches mimicking eclampsia. We report a rare case of cerebral arteriovenous malformation with abrupt seizures in the third trimester.

Case Report: A 28-year-old primipara was brought to our emergency department at 32 6/7 weeks of gestation with new-onset acute seizures and hypertension.

A quick method to customize pictorial blood assessment tools towards better measurement: Method development and validation.

Objective: Identification of heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB) cases in primary care settings is often done by using pictorial blood assessment charts (PBAC). The study aims to highlight the challenge of assessing blood loss, to develop a standardized method to efficiently customize a patient-reported pictorial chart, to validate the tool produced with our proposed method, and to demonstrate the feasibility of using PBACs in settings where resources are scarce.

Materials And Methods: Using blood samples and feedback from 21 women aged 30-51 years, we followed guidelines suggested in the literature, developed a method to produce PBACs for regular, long and night sizes, and had 9 participants testuse them.

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of HIFU combined with GnRH-a or LNG-IUS for adenomyosis patients. In this systematic review and meta-analysis, Pubmed, Embase, Cochrane Library and Scopus databases were searched up to December 2021.

Deep Residual Learning-Based Classification with Identification of Incorrect Predictions and Quantification of Cellularity and Nuclear Morphological Features in Digital Pathological Images of Common Astrocytic Tumors.

Interobserver variations in the pathology of common astrocytic tumors impact diagnosis and subsequent treatment decisions. This study leveraged a residual neural network-50 (ResNet-50) in digital pathological images of diffuse astrocytoma, anaplastic astrocytoma, and glioblastoma to recognize characteristic pathological features and perform classification at the patch and case levels with identification of incorrect predictions. In addition, cellularity and nuclear morphological features, including axis ratio, circularity, entropy, area, irregularity, and perimeter, were quantified via a hybrid task cascade (HTC) framework and compared between different characteristic pathological features with importance weighting.

Background: Occipital neuralgia is a debilitating condition, and traditional treatments often provide limited or temporary relief. Recently, ultrasound-guided hydrodissection of the greater occipital nerve (GON) has emerged as a promising minimally invasive approach.

Objectives: To describe two novel ultrasound-guided hydrodissections with 5% dextrose for GON and discuss their advantages, disadvantages, and considerations.

In this study, we evaluated the suitability of ultrasound-mediated lysozyme microbubble (USMB) cavitation to enhance NOX4 siRNA transfection in vitro and ex vivo. Lysozyme-shelled microbubbles (LyzMBs) were constructed and designed for siNOX4 loading as siNOX4/LyzMBs.
