Spontaneous transvaginal small bowel evisceration, without recent trauma or surgery, is extremely rare. Complications include bowel obstruction, perforation, gangrene, septicaemia and death, requiring urgent surgical intervention. We report a case of a woman in her late 60s, who presented with 70-75 cm of small intestine eviscerated through the vagina, alongside a long history of uterine and rectal prolapse.

Background: This study aims to investigate the impact of combining crush fluid resuscitation with gelsolin treatment on renal function in a rat model of crush syndrome.
Methods: Twenty-four adult female Wistar albino rats were randomly assigned to one of three groups for crush syndrome treat-ment: Control (C) group, gelsolin + crush fluid (gel) group, and crush fluid only (CF) group, each containing eight rats. Sedated rats underwent unilateral hind limb compression of 2 kg using a compression device, maintained for five hours.

Objective: To observe the clinical effect and safety of fire needle therapy combined with bladder function training on neurogenic bladder (NB) caused by spinal cord injury.
Methods: A total of 60 patients with NB caused by spinal cord injury were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group , with 30 cases in each group. On the basis of conventional treatment with western medicine, the bladder function training was adopted in the control group, once a day and for 4 weeks.

Introduction: Morphological changes in the prostatic urethra and bladder cavity resulting from Aquablation treatment are still unknown. This study aims to assess the safety and efficacy of Aquablation within one-year post-surgery, focusing on both functional and endoscopic outcomes.
Methods: Prospective enrollment of patients undergoing Aquablation (10/2018-04/2023) included those with baseline International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) ≥ 10, prostate volume from 40 to 80 mL, and Qmax ≤ 12 mL/s.

Background: Renal hypoxia and ischemia significantly contribute to chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression, underscoring the need for noninvasive quantitative assessments. This study employs blood oxygenation level-dependent magnetic resonance imaging (BOLD-MRI) and arterial spin labeling (ASL) MRI to comprehensively evaluate renal oxygenation and blood flow in CKD patients.
Methods: Forty-two CKD patients across stages 1-5 and ten healthy volunteers underwent simultaneous BOLD-MRI and ASL-MRI.

Interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) represents a chronic, aseptic inflammatory bladder condition with an unclear etiology and few therapeutic options. A composite barrier structure composed of the uroepithelium and glycosaminoglycan layer forms on the bladder's inner surface to block urine and other harmful substances. Dysfunction of this barrier may initiate the pathogenesis of IC/BPS.

Background: The other side of radiotherapy (RT), in addition to the cytotoxic effect, is the ability to modulate the immune system in terms of activation or suppression, also depending on the dose and fractionation delivered. This immune RT effect can be detected both locally in the irradiated tumor site and in the peripheral blood. The aim of this study was to assess the consequence of pelvic irradiation on peripheral immune cells and cytokine secretions in localized prostate cancer (PC) patients undergoing pelvic irradiation with a simultaneous moderately hypofractionated prostate/prostate bed boost by Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT).

Background: Third-trimester lower uterine segment thickness (LUST) is associated with uterine rupture during trial of labor after cesarean (TOLAC) but threshold values vary according to the approach used (lower values with vaginal ultrasound, higher values with abdominal ultrasound).
Objective: To estimate the optimal LUST cut-off value combining vaginal and abdominal ultrasound to predict uterine rupture during TOLAC.
Study Design: We performed a secondary analysis of PRISMA cluster randomized trial including women with a single previous cesarean who underwent ultrasound LUST measurement at 34-38 weeks using the thinnest measurement obtained by combining transvaginal and transabdominal measurements.

Introduction And Clinical Importance: Inserting foreign bodies (FBs) into the lower genitourinary tract is an emergency and uncommon medical condition. The materials used for this purpose are batteries, telephone cables, wires and glass. This report highlights a rare case of urethrovesical FBs "hand sewing needles", emphasizing the limited literature on asymptomatic long-term retention and discussing removal strategies that include conservative care, endoscopic retrieval, and surgical intervention based on case complexity.

Rationale: Complex vesicovaginal fistulas (VVFs) with large defects pose significant surgical challenges. Traditional repair methods often require extensive tissue separation and multilayer suturing, risking local blood supply and healing. This study introduces a novel modified transvaginal repair technique that simplifies the procedure while preserving tissue vascularity.

One potential advantage of single-port (SP) robotic surgery compared with multiport (MP) robotic surgery is improved cosmesis. The only studies in urology patients to suggest this finding did not assess differences based on incision site. Our study evaluated SP, MP, incision location, age, gender, and prior abdominal surgery as predictors of cosmesis and scar consciousness for reconstructive procedures.

Aim: Recently, substantial studies have been accumulated to indicate the important role of gut microbiota in diabetic kidney disease (DKD). The abnormal change of bacterial-derived products could imply specific injuries or play beneficial or harmful roles in DKD progression. In this study, we examined the presence and contribution of the Klebsiella oxytoca gene in the circulation of patients with DKD.
