Chronic constrictive pericarditis (CCP) is one of the common causes of cardiogenic cirrhosis; it is rare for a patient to have both CCP and recurrent black stool, so we consider that CCP causes cardiogenic cirrhosis. Cardiogenic cirrhosis caused portal hypertension which then resulted in gastrointestinal bleeding. Herein, we report a case of a 40-year-old Chinese woman suffering from CCP who had upper gastrointestinal bleed and had to undergo emergency surgery.

BACKGROUND Oblique lateral interbody fusion (OLIF) is a new and minimally invasive surgery. This study aimed to compare the clinical efficacy and safety of oblique lateral interbody fusion with anterolateral screw fixation and with posterior percutaneous screw fixation in treating single-segment mild degenerative lumbar diseases. MATERIAL AND METHODS A retrospective analysis was performed on 51 patients with single-segment mild degenerative lumbar diseases who received OLIF from April 2017 to January 2020 in Hong Hui Hospital, Xi'an Jiao Tong University; 24 and 27 patients received OLIF with anterolateral screw fixation (OLIF+AF) and OLIF with posterior percutaneous screw fixation (OLIF+PF), respectively.

Purpose: Primary aldosteronism is one of the most frequent causes of secondary arterial hypertension, and whether primary aldosteronism is associated with masked hypertension is unknown.

Materials And Methods: We describe a 64-year-old man with a history of hypothyroidism, recurring hypokalaemia, and normal home and office blood pressure values. Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring revealed masked hypertension with strikingly high systolic blood pressure variability and typical hypertension-mediated organ damage.

To meet the unprecedented requirement of diagnostic testing for SARS-CoV-2, a large number of diagnostic kits were authorized by concerned authorities for diagnostic use within a short period of time during the initial phases of the ongoing pandemic. We undertook this study to evaluate the inter-test agreement and other key operational features of 5 such commercial kits that have been extensively used in India for routine diagnostic testing for COVID-19. Metastatic recurrence is still a major challenge in breast cancer treatment, but the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Here, we report that a small adaptor protein, SH3BGRL, is upregulated in the majority of breast cancer patients, especially elevated in those with metastatic relapse, indicating it as a marker for the poor prognosis of breast cancer. Physiologically, SH3BGRL can multifunctionally promote breast cancer cell tumorigenicity, migration, invasiveness, and efficient lung colonization in nude mice.

A soluble form of PRR (sPRR) is generated through protease-mediated cleavage of the full-length PRR and secreted into extracellular spaces. This study examined the effect of a cryoprotectant with and without pentoxifylline supplementation on the motility and viability of human testicular sperm, both before and after freezing. Testicular samples were obtained from 68 patients with azoospermia who came to the Andrology Service of West China Second University Hospital, Sichuan University, for testicular biopsies from December 2019 to April 2020. All patients were assigned randomly to two groups: experimental, whose testicular sperm were added to the cryoprotectant with pentoxifylline, and the control, whose testicular sperm were added to the cryoprotectant without pentoxifylline.
