BCR::ABL1-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) pose a substantial risk of thrombosis, leading to significant morbidity and mortality. Anticoagulant therapy, historically based on vitamin K antagonists (VKAs), has limitations in preventing recurrent thrombotic events and managing bleeding complications. Direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) offer a potential alternative with improved pharmacokinetics and compliance.

Methods: Thirty-seven guinea pigs with a normal auditory function were randomly allocated to group 1 (cisplatin; n = 8), group 2 (memantine; n = 8), group 3 (cisplatin + memantine; n = 8), group 4 (cisplatin + physiological serum [PS]; n = 8), and group 5 (control; n = 5). Auditory assessments were conducted using distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAE) within a frequency range of 1-32 kHz and auditory brainstem responses (ABRs) within 8-32 kHz.

Purpose: Advancements in medical treatments and increased access to healthcare have significantly extended the life expectancy of children with neurological disorders. However, this has also led to a higher incidence of secondary health issues, such as nephrolithiasis. This review aims to analyze the risk factors, management, and treatment outcomes for stone disease in children with neurological disorders and focus on specific risk factors such as immobilization, urinary tract infections, and metabolic abnormalities to identify key points in the occurrence of nephrolithiasis.

Objective: In this study, we aimed to obtain real-life data on the use of antimyeloma agents, which significantly increase overall survival (OS) in multiple myeloma (MM) patients, in primary plasma cell leukemia (pPCL) patients with poor prognosis.
Materials And Methods: Data from 53 patients who were diagnosed with pPCL between 2011 and 2020 and who used at least one proteasome inhibitor (PI) and/or immunomodulatory (IMID) agent were analyzed retrospectively. Depending on the year of the pPCL diagnosis, 20% leukocytes or ≥2x10/L plasma cells in the peripheral blood was used as a diagnostic criterion.

Background: It is still not fully explained what kind of cognitive sources the methods used in the assessment of listening effort are more sensitive to and how these measurement results are related to each other. The aim of the study is to ascertain which neural resources crucial for listening effort are most sensitive to objective measurement methods using differently degraded speech stimuli.
Methods: A total of 49 individuals between the ages of 19 and 34 with normal hearing participated in the study.

Human breast milk is a complex biological fluid containing multifaceted biological compounds that boost immune and metabolic system development that support the short- and long-term health of newborns. Recent literature suggests that human breast milk is a substantial source of nutrients, bioactive molecules, and exosomes. This review examines the factors influencing exosomes noted in human milk and the impacts of exosomes on infant health.

Chitosan-based nanofibers with excellent properties are attractive materials for specific industrial applications of contemporary interest. This work aims to fabricate functional nanofibers based on poly(vinyl alcohol)/chitosan (CS) with an antioxidant and model drug molecule, gallic acid (GA), by electrospinning, followed by cross-linking through glutaraldehyde (PVA-CS-GAs). PVA-CS-GAs were electrospun at two different concentrations by the adjustment of the CS feeding ratio.

Sheep was one of the first domesticated animals in Neolithic West Eurasia. The zooarchaeological record suggests that domestication first took place in Southwest Asia, although much remains unresolved about the precise location(s) and timing(s) of earliest domestication, or the post-domestication history of sheep. Here, we present 24 new partial sheep paleogenomes, including a 13,000-year-old Epipaleolithic Central Anatolian wild sheep, as well as 14 domestic sheep from Neolithic Anatolia, two from Neolithic Iran, two from Neolithic Iberia, three from Neolithic France, and one each from Late Neolithic/Bronze Age Baltic and South Russia, in addition to five present-day Central Anatolian Mouflons and two present-day Cyprian Mouflons.

The ant genus Temnothorax is one of the most diverse in the Palearctic region, comprising several species with different life histories and uncertain taxonomic backgrounds. Socially parasitic Temnothorax ant species were typically described decades ago, primarily based on traditional morphological traits. In some aspects, these species have come back into the spotlight in recent years, necessitating a comprehensive taxonomic revision of the species of the genus.
