Objectives: This study aims to describe the various presentations of the prenatally diagnosed isolated right aortic arch (RAA), that is, without associated congenital heart defect and to evaluate the impact of prenatal diagnosis of isolated RAA in terms of postnatal outcome.
Method: In this multicentric retrospective study, from 2010 to 2019, all live births with a prenatal ultrasound diagnosis of isolated RAA were included, with a 1-year postnatal follow-up. The concordance between the different diagnostic steps (prenatal ultrasound, postnatal ultrasound and postnatal CT scan) was evaluated using Gwet's AC1 coefficient.
Background: A notable increase in severe cases of COVID-19, with significant hospitalizations due to the emergence and spread of JN.1 was observed worldwide in late 2023 and early 2024. However, no clinical data are available regarding critically-ill JN.

Introduction: Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) is the standard of care for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) with large vessel occlusion (LVO), but unfavorable outcomes remain common. Procedural arterial hypotension is associated with poor patient outcome. This study aimed to assess the impact of arterial hypotension "magnitude" (a combination of the depth, defined as the percentage relative to baseline arterial blood pressure, and the duration of hypotensive episodes)" during MT on neurological outcome.

The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to compare static compression forces between direct composite resin restorations and indirect restorations for posterior teeth. All studies comparing mechanical properties of direct versus indirect restorations of posterior teeth were included from 2007 up to February 2024. A meta-analysis was conducted for static compression fracture resistance.

Background: After surgical resection of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), patients are predominantly treated with adjuvant chemotherapy, commonly consisting of gemcitabine (GEM)-based regimens or the modified FOLFIRINOX (mFFX) regimen. While mFFX regimen has been shown to be more effective than GEM-based regimens, it is also associated with higher toxicity. Current treatment decisions are based on patient performance status rather than on the molecular characteristics of the tumor.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of intensive care units (ICUs) and their organization in healthcare systems. However, ICU capacity and availability are ongoing concerns beyond the pandemic, particularly due to an aging population and increasing complexity of care. This study aimed to assess the current and future shortage of ICU physicians in France, ten years after a previous evaluation.

Background: The most effective method and length of time for administering adjuvant immunotherapy after surgery for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) are still unknown. Various clinical trials have utilized diverse strategies for adjuvant treatment. In this case, we explore the potential benefits of neoadjuvant immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy in managing locally advanced lung squamous carcinoma, which often poses challenges for treatment.

The European Society of Cardiology issued updated syncope guidelines in 2018 which included recommendations for managing syncope in the emergency department (ED) setting. However, these guidelines lack detailed process-oriented instructions regarding the fact that ED syncope patients initially present with a transient loss of consciousness (TLOC), which can have a broad spectrum of causes. This study aims to establish a European consensus on the general process of the workup and care for patients with suspected syncope and provides rules for sufficient and systematic management of the broad group of syncope (initially presenting as TLOC) patients in the ED.

Purpose: This review aimed to investigate the prevalence of hypertension and cardiovascular (CV) complications in various inflammatory and autoimmune diseases (IAD).
Recent Findings: Despite recent improvements in the management of IAD, patients with IAD still have an increased CV mortality and CV complications, mostly related to CV risk factors such as hypertension and inflammation. We systematically searched MEDLINE and EMBASE libraries for controlled studies involving hypertension and CV complications in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriasis including psoriatic arthritis (PsA), Sjogren's syndrome (SS), or antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis (AAV) between January 2000 and March 2022.

Inland navigation in Europe is proposed to increase in the coming years, being promoted as a low-carbon form of transport. However, we currently lack knowledge on how this would impact biodiversity at large scales and interact with existing stressors. Here we addressed this knowledge gap by analysing fish and macroinvertebrate community time series across large European rivers comprising 19,592 observations from 4,049 sampling sites spanning the past 32 years.

Objective: Acute graft pyelonephritis (AGPN) is the most frequent infectious complication in kidney transplant recipients (KTR). The treatment of acute community-acquired (CA) pyelonephritis is based on third-generation cephalosporins (3GC) and fluoroquinolones. Cefepime or a piperacillin-tazobactam combination are more often used in healthcare-associated (HCA) infections.

Introduction: Papillary renal cell carcinoma (pRCC) is a rare and aggressive cancer with no specifically established therapeutic strategy in the metastatic setting. Combinations of tyrosine kinase and immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) are a promising option. We aimed to study the immune landscape of metastatic pRCC, and its interactions with angiogenesis pathways, to search for potential therapeutic targets.

The classic way to produce single-chain (sc) glycoprotein hormones is to fuse their two subunits through the carboxy-terminal peptide (CTP) from human Choriogonadotropin (hCG). The CTP confers a longer half-life to single-chain hormones thanks to its four O-glycosyl side chains. However, unlike syncytiotrophoblastic cells, most cells used for recombinant protein production do not transfer O-glycosyl chains efficiently.
