An accurate diagnosis of lower limb deep vein thrombosis (DVT) recurrence is mandatory. The diagnosis is difficult and has not been well investigated. Our objective was to define the role of clinical probability assessment, D-dimer assay, venous ultrasound and other imaging methods in the diagnosis of this condition based on a review of published data.

Distribution of Species in 12 French Cystic Fibrosis Centers in 2020 by a Retrospective MALDI-TOF MS Spectrum Analysis.

Achromobacter spp. are nonfermenting Gram-negative bacilli mainly studied among cystic fibrosis (CF) patients. The identification of the 19 species within the genus is time-consuming (-sequencing), thus data concerning the distribution of the species are limited to specific studies.

Efficacy, Tolerability, and Safety of Low-Volume Bowel Preparations for Patients with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases: The French Multicentre CLEAN Study.

Background: Standard high-volume polyethylene glycol [PEG] bowel preparations [PEG-4L] are recommended for patients with inflammatory bowel disease [IBD] undergoing colonoscopy. However, low-volume preparations [≤2 L of active volume] are often used in clinical practice. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy, tolerability, and safety of the various bowel preparations for patients with IBD, including low-volume preparations.

A study comparing care between nurses and doctors in the French prehospital setting: the case of hypoglycemia.

Introduction: The objective of this study was to compare the quality of care between French nurses and physicians in the prehospital management of hypoglycemic patients.

Methods: Response times, concordance with medical protocols/recommendations, quality of medical records, and percentage of hospitalized patients were evaluated.

Results: A total of 33 patients were treated for hypoglycemia by the nurse group and 41 by the physician group.

Assessing health-related quality of life in patients suffering from schizophrenia: a comparison of instruments.

Objective: To compare three different kinds of health-related quality of life (HRQL) questionnaires available for use in patients suffering from schizophrenia: the SF-36 (a generic instrument), the QoLI (an instrument designed to a broad range of mental illnesses), the S-QoL (a questionnaire specific to schizophrenic patients), in terms of external validity and sensitivity to change.

Methods: Two hundred and five patients were included at D0 and one-third retested at D30. Socio-demographic data and clinical history were recorded, clinical evaluation comprised psychotic symptoms (PANSS), depression (Calgary depression scale for schizophrenia), global functioning (GAF), clinical severity (CGI), and extrapyramidal symptoms (ESRS).
