Objectives: MVASI (Amgen) and Zirabev (Pfizer) are 2 of the earliest bevacizumab biosimilars approved for the first-line treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). We aimed to confirm and quantify the real-world cost savings and cost-effectiveness of MVASI and Zirabev relative to originator bevacizumab for patients with mCRC.
Methods: We conducted a population-based, retrospective cohort study in Ontario, Canada, where originator and biosimilar bevacizumab are universally publicly funded.

Neuropathic pain is a high-intensity pain that can be caused by compression, transection, injury, nerve infiltration and drug treatment of cancer. Furthermore, drug therapy has low clinical efficacy, many adverse effects and remission of painful symptoms. In this way, natural products derived from plants constitute a promising therapeutic alternative.

A multi-disciplinary symposium on early-age onset cancer (EAOC) was held in October 2023 to explore challenges experienced by this rapidly growing population. A major outcome of the symposium was recognition of the remarkable similarities of EAOC patients' journeys across cancer sites. Prevention and early detection of cancer are hindered by a lack of awareness among patients and family doctors that cancer can and does occur in younger persons.

The treatment of BRAF V600E gliomas with BRAF inhibitors (BRAFis) and MEK inhibitors (MEKis) has been increasingly integrated into clinical practice for pediatric low-grade gliomas (PLGGs) and pediatric high-grade gliomas (HGGs). However, some questions remain unanswered, such as the best time to start targeted therapy, duration of treatment, and discontinuation of therapy. Given that no clinical trial has been able to address these critical questions, we developed a Canadian Consensus statement for the treatment of BRAF V600E mutated pediatric as well as adolescent and young adult (AYA) gliomas.

Most patients diagnosed with and dying from cancer in Canada are older adults, with aging contributing to the large projected growth in cancer incidence. Older adults with cancer have unique needs, and on a global scale increasing efforts have been made to address recognized gaps in their cancer care. However, in Canada, geriatric oncology remains a new and developing field.

Purpose: Compared with older women diagnosed with breast cancer, younger women are more likely to die of breast cancer and more likely to suffer psychosocially in both the short-term and long term. The Young Women's Breast Cancer Study (YWS) is a multisite prospective cohort study established to address gaps in our knowledge about this vulnerable and understudied population.
Participants: The YWS enrolled 1302 women newly diagnosed with stages 0-IV breast cancer at age 40 years or younger at 13 academic and community sites in North America between 2006 and 2016.

Alemtuzumab is a potent lymphocyte-depleting immunotherapy used in solid organ transplan-tation (SOT), that is increasingly being applied in diverse lymphoproliferative disorders (LPDs). However, a significant toxicity limiting expanded usage is cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection, for which standardized preventive strategies exist in SOT but not in LPDs due to a poor understanding of infection risk in this population, with early LPD studies largely limited to stem cell transplantation. Using one of the most diverse arrays of LPDs studied to date, our retrospective cohort study of non-transplant patients receiving alemtuzumab over a ten-year period at a large regional cancer center examines the incidence and clinical profile of infected patients.

Background: The treatment of elderly/ frail patients with glioblastoma is a balance between avoiding undue toxicity, while not withholding effective treatment. It remains debated, whether these patients should receive combined chemo-radiotherapy with temozolomide (RT/TMZ→TMZ) regardless of the O6-methylguanine DNA methyltransferase gene promoter (MGMTp) methylation status. MGMT is a well-known resistance factor blunting the treatment effect of TMZ, by repairing the most genotoxic lesion.

Background: The original 'BETTER' (Building on Existing Tools To Improve Chronic Disease Prevention and Screening in Primary Care) approach consisted of a prevention-focused visit between participants aged 40-65 years and a "Prevention Practitioner" (PP), who empowered the participant to set achievable prevention and screening goals for cancers and chronic diseases. BETTER was successfully adapted for economically deprived communities (BETTER HEALTH) in Canada. Our objective was to conduct a review of guidelines in preparation for adapting the 'BETTER HEALTH' approach for younger adults aged 18-39 years living with lower income, a group known to have earlier mortality due to a higher prevalence of preventable chronic diseases than their peers with higher income.

Our review focused on responses to these questions whereby existing best practice recommendations were considered, if available, relevant literature was cited and differences in international practices discussed. We combined similar questions, revised both the original questions and responses for clarity, as well as updated the references to these questions.

Background: Colorectal cancer guidelines recommend screening colonoscopy every 10 years after a negative procedure. If risk reduction extends past 10 years, the recommended interval could be extended, reducing the burden on the individual and health-care system. We aimed to estimate the duration that patients remain at reduced risk of colorectal cancer incidence and mortality after a complete colonoscopy.

Objective: Preoperative detection of axillary lymph node metastases (ALNMs) from breast cancer is suboptimal; however, recent work suggests radiomics may improve detection of ALNMs. This study aims to develop a 3D CT radiomics model to improve detection of ALNMs compared to conventional imaging features in patients with locally advanced breast cancer.
Methods: Retrospective chart review was performed on patients referred to a specialty breast cancer center between 2015 and 2020 with US-guided biopsy-proven ALNMs and pretreatment chest CT.
