It is crucial to prevent and manage intensive care unit (ICU) distress caused by a pentad of pain, agitation, delirium, immobility, and sleep disturbance (PADIS) to optimize immediate and longterm recovery and outcomes of critically ill patients. This clinical practice guideline provides an update on the prevention, management, and liberation of PADIS in adult ICU patients using an integrated, evidence-based, multidisciplinary ICU protocol: the ABCDEF bundle. ABCDEF bundle incorporates assessment, prevention, and management of pain; both spontaneous awakening trial (SAT) and spontaneous breathing trial (SBT); choice of sedation and analgesia; delirium: assessment, prevention and management, and early mobility and exercise; family involvement and empowerment (ABCDEF) together as a PADIS care bundle.

Characterization of Circulating Tumor Cells Using Imaging Flow Cytometry in Liver Disease Patients.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is asymptomatic at an early stage which delays its timely diagnosis and treatment. Intra-abdominal hypertension and abdominal compartment syndrome in acute pancreatitis.

Intra-abdominal hypertension (IAH) and abdominal compartment syndrome (ACS) are underrecognized entities in patients of acute pancreatitis (AP). IAH develops in 30% to 60% and ACS in 15% to 30% of all AP patients and they are markers of severe disease with high morbidity and mortality. The detrimental effect of increased IAP has been recognized in several organ systems, including the central nervous system, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal and gastrointestinal systems.

Background And Objectives: India has witnessed significant number of cases of co-infection of malaria or dengue with COVID-19, especially during the monsoon season. It has been speculated that anti-malarial immunity might have a protective role in co-infection. Retrospective analysis of co-infection of vector-borne diseases with COVID-19 was done for comparing their remission with matched controls with COVID-19 by means of epidemiological data.

Nailfold capillaroscopy as a prognostic marker for connective tissue diseases: An observational clinico-epidemiological study.

Background Nailfold capillaroscopy (NFC) is useful in the diagnosis and assessment of various connective tissue diseases. In this study, NFC findings were studied in patients of systemic sclerosis (SS), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and dermatomyositis. Aims To study the nailfold capillaroscopic findings in patients with connective tissue disorders, their correlation with disease severity, and changes in findings following treatment or disease progression.
