Lower vertebrates and some neonatal mammals are known to possess the ability to regenerate cardiomyocyte and fully recover after heart injuries within a limited period. Understanding the molecular mechanisms of heart regeneration and exploring new ways to enhance cardiac regeneration hold significant promise for therapeutic intervention of heart failure. Sphingosine 1-phospahte receptor 1 (S1PR1) is highly expressed in cardiomyocytes and plays a crucial role in heart development and pathological cardiac remodeling.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) undergoing open surgery show increased adverse events (AEs) and mortality, while the safety of transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) in coinfected patients remains understudied, limiting available evidence. This study aims to investigate the safety of TACE in HCC patients coinfected with COVID-19, and to explore the potential risk factors affecting the occurrence of serious AEs (SAEs), thus providing evidence for clinical treatment strategies in such patients.
Methods: This retrospective study involved HCC patients who underwent TACE with or without COVID-19 infection at our institution from November 2022 to February 2023.

Department of Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery, Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China.
Background: In recent years, the incidence of pancreatic cancer has shown an obvious increasing trend worldwide and even causes a greater disease burden to the mankind. Due to the lack of effective early surveillance methods, patients are often in the middle to advanced stages of their disease at the time of detection, thus losing the opportunity for surgery. The currently available chemotherapy regimens are yet to be further improved to prolong patient survival.

The two-fold reduction of tetrabenzo[a,c,e,g]cyclooctatetraene (TBCOT, or tetraphenylene, 1) with K, Rb, and Cs metals reveals a distinctive core transformation pathway: a newly formed C-C bond converts the central eight-membered ring into a twisted core with two fused five-membered rings. This C-C bond of 1.589(3)-1.

Background: Emerging evidence shows that small nucleolar RNA (snoRNA), a type of highly conserved non-coding RNA, is involved in tumorigenesis and aggressiveness. However, the roles of snoRNAs in regulating alternative splicing crucial for cancer progression remain elusive.
Methods: High-throughput RNA sequencing and comprehensive analysis were performed to identify crucial snoRNAs and downstream alternative splicing events.

Objectives: This study aimed to compare apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values derived from diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) of different Borrmann types of advanced gastric cancer (AGC) and correlate these ADC values with Ki-67 expression and serum CEA levels in AGC.
Methods: A total of 84 patients with AGC who underwent DWI of the upper abdomen before tumor resection in our hospital between June 2014 and July 2018 were included in the present study. DWI was obtained with a single-shot echo planar imaging sequence in the axial plane (b values: 0, 100, 700 and 1000 s/mm).

Background: Steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome (SRNS) is insensitive to steroid therapy and overwhelmingly progresses to kidney failure (KF), the known pathogenic genes of which include key subunits of the nuclear pore complex (NPC), a less-recognized contributor to glomerular podocyte injury.
Methods: After analyzing their clinical characterizations and obtaining parental consent, whole-exome sequencing (WES) was performed on patients with SRNS. Several nucleoporin (NUP) biallelic pathogenic variants were identified and further analyzed by cDNA-PCR sequencing from white cells of peripheral blood, minigene assay, immunohistochemical (IHC) staining, and electron microscopy (EM) ultrastructure observation of kidney biopsy, as well as multiple in silico prediction tools, including 3D protein modeling.

Objectives: The objective of this review is to provide a comprehensive overview of the utilization of Raman spectroscopy in urinary system diseases, highlighting its potential in non-invasive diagnostic methodologies for early diagnosis and prognostic assessment of urinary ailments.
Methods: We searched PubMed, Web of Science, and Google Scholar using 'raman,' 'bladder,' 'kidney,' 'prostate,' 'cancer,' 'infection,' 'stone or urinary calculi,' and 'urine or urinary,' along with 'AND' and 'OR' to refine our search. We excluded irrelevant articles and screened potential ones based on titles and abstracts before assessing the full texts for relevance and quality.

Prizloncabtagene autoleucel (prizlon-cel), a novel bispecific chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell, targets and eliminates CD19/CD20 positive tumor cells. This phase 1, open-label study investigated the safety and efficacy of prizlon-cel in patients with relapsed/refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (r/r B-NHL). Patients with CD19 and/or CD20-positive r/r B-NHL received a 3-day lymphodepletion (cyclophosphamide: 300 mg/m2/d; fludarabine: 30 mg/m2/d) followed by an intravenous dose of prizlon-cel.

Cytoskeletal remodeling and mitochondrial bioenergetics play important roles in thrombocytopoiesis and platelet function. Recently, α-actinin-1 mutations have been reported in patients with congenital macrothrombocytopenia. However, the role and underlying mechanism of α-actinin-1 in thrombocytopoiesis and platelet function remain elusive.

Sarcoma (SARC), a diverse group of stromal tumors arising from mesenchymal tissues, is often associated with a poor prognosis. Emerging evidence indicates that senescent cells within the tumor microenvironment (TME) significantly contribute to cancer progression and metastasis. Although the influence of senescence on SARC has been partially acknowledged, it has yet to be fully elucidated.

Circadian rhythm is the internal homeostatic physiological clock that regulates the 24-hour sleep/wake cycle. This biological clock helps to adapt to environmental changes such as light, dark, temperature, and behaviors. Aging, on the other hand, is a process of physiological changes that results in a progressive decline in cells, tissues, and other vital systems of the body.
