Elucidating in vivo lipolysis is crucial for clarifying the underlying mechanisms and in vivo fates of lipid-based nanocarriers, which are essential oral drug delivery carriers. Current mainstream methodologies use various in vitro digestion models to predict the in vivo performance of lipid formulations; however, their accuracy is often impeded by the complicated environment of the gastrointestinal tract. Although fluorescence labeling with conventional probes partly reveals the in vivo translocation of lipid nanocarriers, it fails to elucidate the lipolysis process because of poor signal discrimination among nanocarriers, free probes, and mixed micelles (lipolysis end-products).

Background: Coronary heart disease seriously jeopardizes human health and has become a principal public health problem of global concern. While percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) repairs narrowed arteries and extends patients' lives, cardiac rehabilitation offers additional benefits post-PCI. Numerous previous studies have shown that cardiac rehabilitation can inhibit the progression of atherosclerotic plaques in patients after coronary intervention, effectively controlling patients' clinical symptoms and improving their quality of life.

Background: We aimed to explore the clinical features and predictive factors for visual prognosis of neurosyphilis-associated optic atrophy (NSAOA).
Methods: This retrospective observational study included 17 patients (33 eyes) with NSAOA who received standard anti-ocular syphilis treatment. LogMAR (logarithm of the minimum angle of resolution) best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), visual field, and optical coherence tomography, were recorded at baseline, short-term (within one month after treatment), and long-term (> 6 months) follow-up.

Objective: Modified double-row biceps tenodesis (MDBT) has been proved to be effective in treating slap injuries, but the impact of closing the rotator cuff gap remained postoperatively (the Pulley ring repair) on the long-term shoulder function and stability has not been conclusively investigated.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 157 patients with isolated unilateral type II SLAP lesions treated with MDBT from January 2019 to January 2023. 77 patients were without the Pulley ring repair (group A) and the remaining 80 patients were with the Pulley ring repair (group B).

Sleep disorder significantly disrupts the quality of life for patients. Although it is clinically acknowledged, the fundamental neuropathological mechanisms are still not understood. Recent preclinical research has been directed toward understanding the fundamental mechanisms underlying the sleep deprivation and sleep/wake dysregulation.

Complex genetic and epigenetic mechanisms collectively contribute to the disruption of pulmonary vascular homeostasis. In recent years, advancements in research technology have identified numerous gene deletions and mutations, in addition to , that are closely associated with the vascular remodeling process in PH.

Background: The incidence of hyperuricemia is growing in the world, with a significant influence on the survival and healthy condition of the patient. The connection between serum residual cholesterol (RC) to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) ratio and hyperuricemia is uncertain. Consequently, we tried to elucidate the connection between the hyperuricemia and RC/HDL-C ratio.

Objective: We investigated the mechanism of histone deacetylase 2 (HDAC2) modulating nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) acetylation level in neuronal ferroptosis of hypoxic-ischemic brain injury (HIBI) neonatal rats.
Methods: The pathological damage and neuronal injury in the hippocampal CA1 region of HIBI neonatal rat models were assessed by HE and Nissl staining. Levels of neuron-specific enolase (NSE), glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4), HDAC2, Nrf2, glutathione (GSH), reactive oxygen species (ROS), malondialdehyde (MDA), active Fe, Nrf2 acetylation, and nuclear Nrf2 in hippocampal tissues were determined.

Impaired glucose uptake regulated by suppressed insulin receptor signaling is a key driving force of podocytopathies. The identification of potential therapeutic targets that mediate podocyte insulin receptor signaling holds significant clinical importance. Here, we observed a substantial reduction in PR domain-containing 16 (PRDM16) expression within damaged podocytes in both humans and mice.
