Parkinson's disease (PD), a neurodegenerative disorder without cure, is characterized by the pathological aggregation of α-synuclein (α-Syn) in Lewy bodies. Classic deposition pathway and condensation pathway contribute to α-Syn aggregation, and liquid-liquid phase separation is the driving force for condensate formation, which subsequently undergo liquid-solid phase separation to form toxic fibrils. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has a long history in treating neurodegenerative disease; herein, we identified chemicals from herbs that inhibit α-Syn aggregation.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) presents a formidable challenge in oncology, attributed to its association with chronic liver diseases and global prevalence. The immune microenvironment profoundly influences HCC progression, balancing immune suppression and antitumor responses. The Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3 (STAT3) is central to this equilibrium, orchestrating immune dynamics and intertwining tumor progression with immune evasion mechanisms.

Pediatric high-grade gliomas (pHGGs) are the most common brain malignancies in children and are characterized by blocked differentiation. The epigenetic landscape of pHGGs, particularly the H3K27-altered and H3G34-mutant subtypes, suggests these tumors may be particularly susceptible to strategies that target blocked differentiation. Differentiation therapy aims to overcome this differentiation blockade by promoting glioma cell differentiation into more mature and less malignant cells.

The EGFR-driven angiogenesis is crucial in solid tumors, particularly through the delivery of biomolecules via extracellular vesicles (EVs), but the mechanism by which EGFR regulates EV cargo is still unclear. First, cell co-culture and murine tumor models were employed to examine the impact of EGFR overexpression on the pro-angiogenic properties of small EVs (sEVs) derived from oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Small RNA sequencing was then used to compare the miRNA profiles of OSCC-sEVs with and without EGFR overexpression, followed by functional enrichment and motif analyses of the differentially expressed miRNAs.

Background: In recent years, the incidence of pancreatic cancer has shown an obvious increasing trend worldwide and even causes a greater disease burden to the mankind. Due to the lack of effective early surveillance methods, patients are often in the middle to advanced stages of their disease at the time of detection, thus losing the opportunity for surgery. The currently available chemotherapy regimens are yet to be further improved to prolong patient survival.

Background: Cardiovascular disease is a major cause of increasing morbidity and mortality in type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM). Although insulin therapy is the cornerstone of T1DM, its difficult use and narrow therapeutic index make it difficult for patients to reach glycated haemoglobin targets, increasing the risk of cardiovascular events. Therefore, the combination of sodium-glucose transporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) can likely improve or provide more cardiovascular benefits to patients with T1DM.
